We've got some juiced sacks and nobody out.

Great job coming back from 3-0 to strike out Cruzmissle. I loved that 3-1 change.

Hey, I love Edgar Martinez, but ... he gets a whole three-day weekend?

Merandy is 12-3 with a 1.78 ERA this season. He's struck out 89 and walked 21 in 106 innings giving up on four homers, splitting time between the South Atlantic and the Florida State Leagues. He's totally the P.J. Conlon of 2017 and I wouldn't have blamed him if he had already cleared space on the mantle for his Sterling Award. And at the risk of repeating myself, he looked good in the shower.

FUCKITY FUCK! MERANDY IS AWESZOME!!!

Mmmm ... feeling sudden dislike at that news.

If the contract has value, sure. I don't remember which d'Arnaud injury is which. Against the Phils this year he got hit by a pitch and also got hit by Aaron Altherr's bat. It'd be a shame if the Mets went out and got another reliever with a history of bad blood with a Mets catcher.

On his way to the Mets according to Ken Rosenthal. Fills an area of need, can close, and is under control through 2018. Weird tats. On TV, it just looks like he spilled a bottle of ink all over his forearm. Hey, the booth is passing on reports that the Mets are dealing for A.J. Ramos.

He's our All-Star, man.

Yankee fan curses out handicapped four-year-old: http://westchester.news12.com/story/35997786/developmentally-disabled-boy-berated-at-yankee-stadium Baseball fans are awful.

Two in the first. Don't tell me Bruce and Cabrera can't play winning béisbol.

No way. The future is under way and I intend to be there when it hits the station. Easy. I said good.

Expecting? I dunno. But deals happen. Last year the Rangers, suddenly scared of going into the post-season without catching depth, made a deal to get Nevin Ashley on August 31. Ash hadn't even played for the Mets all year, and had a .100 career MLB batting average, but they were able to deal him off for Ka$h Konsideration$. He played three games for Round Rock and called it a career, but the Mets made a deal for him before he went. I have little doubt in the notion that there's a team (or more) out there who could use a veteran backup catcher who shows grace under pressure, pops the occasional ball into the stands, and looks good in the shower.

Well, not for lack of effort from me.

Yeah, that's the half a player we've had. Don't know where that's going. But Wilmer's going to get a few more days of action, and then maybe a lot more, depending on where the deals lead. That Matt Reynolds is one terribly persistent roster presence. Mets Roster Central, while reporting the demotions of Tyler Pill and Matt Reynolds as the most sensible transactions to correspond with the expected activations of Neil Walker and Brandon Nimmo, is intrigued that the team hasn't made an announcement yet, and has a man camped outside of Sandy Alderson's door. We'll be reporting back to you as details become available.

There were certainly worse Mets careers. But most of them had a moment of grace sprinkled among their troubles. I cannot identify a single successful Neil Ramirez outing. I mean, I guess there were appearances where he got one out, walked a guy and left, so maybe moved the WPA needle a hundredth of a point or two, but not the sort of thing you award Schaefer points for. Did he get any Schaefer points, like, ever?

I like that his teammates appreciated him as much as I did. Aaaaand ... we have video. Lucas Duda (@wefollowlucasduda) • Instagram video WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM 22K likes, 1,391 comments - wefollowlucasduda on July 27, 2017: "Don't Go Lucas!!!!! Gonna miss you buddy!!!".

Give it a shot. I recognized the protagonist's aggressive and abusive brother-in-law (the middle figure from the poster above) from Amelie, in which he played a gentle, simpleton grocer boy.

There's that. God, he could hit 75 homers in a season with Philly.

Benjamin Grimm wrote: Centerfield did a great post about this card — wondering out loud what the Mets might be like if this sneer represented Lucas Duda's actual personality. If he was a guy in favor of stricter gun laws, because he believed men should hunt animals with their bare hands, and the other Mets refused to have a locker adjacent to him, because they were terrified of being anywhere in his radius after a bad game. But his actual personality was no less remarkable, like Jaws at the end of Moonraker, just a sweet, sensitive, awkward dude born into a body that was capable of ripping people's limbs off, and he was forced to reconcile both parts of his nature within one person. I hope Wifey Watch love finds him and he lives happily ever after apart from his six games every third year against the Mets.

A rare tight game for Vegas tonight where they somehow weren't down by multiple runs after one. Three hits for Nimmo and two Rosario as Smith sat. A 7-2 win featuring Travis Taijeron's 19th homer, and 63rd in his Las Vegas career.
