  1. Smith doubles in two runs, and Gary calls it with "And Lucas drives one to right field!" It's September for everybody.
  2. Frayed Knot wrote: Edgy MD wrote: The Braves appear to have a cocktail waitress sitting at the end of their dugout. The blond with the glasses? She's the sideline gal for FOX Sports. FOX, man. Meanwhile, Kirk Suzuki takes a foul ball off the groin and Keith notes it with, "The Wicked witch is dead."
  3. The Braves appear to have a cocktail waitress sitting at the end of their dugout. Also, Ender Inciarte has a potty mouth.
  4. [crossout]Cecchini 2-2 with two rbi.[/crossout] Cecchini 3-3 with two rbi. Corey Seagar, my ass.
  5. Good game so far, guyz! Mets up 5-0 through five, with the Braves managing only two knocks and Dickey out of the game. Cecchini 2-2 with two rbi. You've gotta have wa, Mets!
  6. The Mets named four AA players to their AFL roster, leaving at least two assignments still open. Tomás Nido - c A big setback season at AA, going .232 / .287 /.354 // .641 in 102 games, with eight homers and 60 RBI, leaves him needing a reset button, and he might find that in the desert, along with his 1-2 performance so far in the big leagues, along with a miserably stupid baserunning blunder. Luis Guillorme - if The defensive specialist had a surprisingly effective performance at the plate in the Eastern League, going .283 / .376 / .331 // .706, with one homer and 46 RBI. They've already moved him off shortstop 50% of the time, so they seem to be fast-tracking him, seeing him as at least a potential utility infielder in the near future. David Thompson - 3b His .263 / .325 / .429 // .754 line kind of hides his knack for piling up RBI. The 2015 fourth rounder has moved up fast and met the challenges, so ... Arizona! Kevin Kaczmarski - of A surprise pick among the organization's soggy outfield talent pool, Kacz went .274 / .370 / .369 // .739 in AA after only 42 games for St. Lucie. Wuilmer Becerra, your career is calling. The Mets have two more guys to send and probably at least one part-timer. All, I imagine, will be pitchers.
  7. Indeed. Bullpens are in fair territory in the wall-less MLB stadium of my imagination also.
  8. Replay doesn't work for the Mets, and neither do the Mets. Loss #84.
  9. And that's it. Twenty-two and out.
  10. He strikes out. It's all up to Francisco Lindor. Again.
  11. Gomes goes down looking at a fastball down the pipe. One out and one on. Francisco Mejia on to pinch hit.
  12. Yanni Diaz leads off with a flare single to right off his fists.
  13. We go to bottomy bottom of the ninthy ninth. Jason Vargas started this game for the Royals, and even though he only went five, the Royals took the league in the top of the sixth, leaving him as the pitcher of record. Is Jason F. Vargas really going to be the guy to break this streak? JASON VARGAS?
  14. Uh, oh. KC goes up 4-3.
  15. Atlanta goes ahead as Nimmo makes an Agee catch.
  16. He should have held on to that championship ball until the Sawx gave him an organizational job.
  17. Cleveland up 3-1 through three, but gave up runs each of the last two innings and are tied at three through five.
  18. I certainly didn't expect I'd be rooting for day Montero's turn to start came around in the rotation.
  19. Ron and Keith trying to think of how many ways they can say "Kemp got fat" without saying it.
  20. #2 looks bulkier than my usual impression of Montero. Maybe he traveled home ahead of the team.
  21. Goeddel getting treated for dizziness and blurred vision. Syndergaard expected to throw a pen in the next few days and then maybe a game next week. Xorge Carillo, to judge by social media, seems to be honeymooning in Greece. Not cool when your team needs a catcher, man.
  22. I thought Bradford was the dark-bearded guy the right of Reyes. The lighter beard to the right of him is Nido.
  23. 1) Jerry Blevins 2) Montero? 3) 4) Plawecki 5) Rosario 6) deGrom 7) 8) 9) Syndergaard 10) Reyes 11) Smoker 12) 13) Cabrera 14) Smith 15) Harvey 16) 17) [crossout]Gsellman?[/crossout] Ramos 18) d'Arnaud 19) 20) 21) Sewald 22) 23) Familia 24) Robles 25) Lugo 26) Bradford 27) Evans? 28) 29) Aoki 30) Cecchini 31) Zimmo 32) Rhame
  24. I think 13 is, appropriately enough, Asdrubal Cabrera. Confirmation?
  25. 6. deGrom 10. Reyes 16. Gsellie? 17. Ramos 18. d'Arnaud 24. Robles 27. Evans? 29. Aoki 30. Cecchini 31. Nimmo
