At a pitch three inches off the plate. Wasn't much he could have done hacking at that. It was a Glavine strike. BUT LUIS!!!

Or knock a two-run single over shortstop! That's good too!

Braves be sending the coach out for a fake chat to ultimately stall until the reliever is ready. Mets be sending Rosario up to face a sidearmer with the bases loaded and one out. Squeeze it!

I know they want to conserve pitchers, but Hansel looks like he's run out of crumbs.

Sheesh, somebody buy Reyes a break.

Second time around, Bruce gets "Don't Bring Me Down."

If they're gonna try and groove strike one to you, Nimmo, you know what to do.

I think McCarthy got crossed up there by the secondbaseman covering second, so you can't lead him like you'd lead the shortstop. You're in fact throwing behind him. Weird.

That's fan interference! Conforto should get to score! Adrian Gonzalez gets "Theme from Rocky."

Brandon got at least one called strike he didn't agree with. Jay Bruce gets "Born in the USA" from the Atlanta organist.

Oh, and this guy is rehabbing too. DirectionGOINGTransactionSent To Las Vegas On Rehab AssignmentPosition Group=#8000FF] Infielder[fimg=90]http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/images/players/head_shot/453943.jpg[/fimg]NameTodd FrazierDoB2/12/86B/TR/R

Gary and Keith acting a little punchy.

Also, say goodbye to Colby Woodmansee. The fifth round pick from 2016 never found his stroke with a wood bat, and was getting passed by several other shortstop prospects. Injuries slowed his development badly, and the Mets bid him adieu without ever activating him in 2018.

I take a back seat to nobody in supporting leaving an effective pitcher in the game and defaulting to roles. But Lugo looked lousy from the get-go.

Rain in Florida has been a pain in the ass, washing out the St. Lucie Mets game against the Daytona Tortugas with the Mets ahead 5-3, and just one inning short of regulation. Desmond Lindsay enjoyed his first homer of the year, but fate would not let it contribute to a win. It was the third straight rainout for the St. Lucies, the ninth of their last 15, and the 10th of their last 17. Wet, wet, wet. In between the raindrops, it's been hard to get some momentum, but the Mets have managed to tread water, winning three of their last six. They've even sent some players to other teams to get some work in. Josh Prevost, who missed all of 2017, has really found his groove the last month, going 6-7 innings each of his last four starts, giving up two runs or fewer. He's raised his record to 4-1, giving up only two homeruns in 45.0 innings. In the bullpen, the Mets really seem to be doing some great salvage work with Matt Pobryeko. The reliever, who the Mets signed after a release from the Arizona system and a holiday in Indy Ball, has been wiping out the Florida State League to the tune of 25 strikeouts in 19 innings, a 0.95 WHIP, and a matching 0.95 ERA. Coming on strong has been top prospect Andres Gimenez. Doing high-A at just 19 years old, the shortstop has been good for and eyebrow-raising .318 / .382 / .455 // .836 in May. He has stolen 10 bases this month, for 15 on the season, already a career high. The fifth-place Mets start a six-game homestand tomorrow, trying to shave a few off of the 8.5 game difference between them and the standard bearing Miami affiliate, the Jupiter Hammerheads. They've so far played the fewest games in the whole of the Florida State League. Hopefully, they'll first round out their roster, currently only carrying 23 guys. Well, Lugo had nothing.

On the other hand, stealing 0-2 with two outs is a great play.

People bunt wrong.

Mesoraco Baldelli.

Damn. Wondering if they brought Gonzalez in for firstbase defense, he would have made the play on Gsellie's wide throw. OE: Or cut off the throw from Nimmo and thrown out the trailing runner.

Not feeling good about seeing Freeman up there against Lugo with a runner on.

Well, I'm a fan. [tweet:3m1cugqh]https://twitter.com/the_irishpsycho/status/1001209207184556032[/tweet:3m1cugqh]

Hey, deGrom's back out on the field.

Most of the flooding has been in the suburbs. The beautiful historic downtown of Ellicott City got violently submerged after previously drowning in a "once every thousand years" storm just two years ago.

And Camargo goes down as well!
