  1. You could do worse, McNeilio. Somebody forgot to tell Nimmo to suck.
  2. [youtube:34eh0f3f]FkLTwX0duY4[/youtube:34eh0f3f]
  3. So I've got: Back Row, Standing: H. Johnson, Magadan, Mazzilli, Darling, Cone with a conehead, Strawberry and Gooden with the X-Rays, Fernandez indulging his vegetable diet, Aase with the business card, Aguilera standing tall and rocking a mullet, Lyons doffing his cap. Third Row, Seated on Benches and Squatting: Dykstra, Sasser, Wilson, Ojeda with the torn-up hand, Myers going commando, and Backman inexplicably climbing out of a coffin. Second Row, Seated on Ground: McReynolds, Hernandez, D. Johnson, Carter, Elster. Front Row, in Repose or Under Water: Jefferies, McDowell, I don't know (Miller? Carreon?).
  4. Three most disturbing parts of that illustration: [list:19eue4yh]1. It depicts the team a moment before the stadium, or at least the lighting tower and top of the scoreboard, are destroyed by a passenger jet crash. Pull up, captain! 2. Mackey is sporting an axe. What. The. Fuck? 3. He's wielding that axe WHILE getting a handjob from Mookie Wilson.[/list:u:19eue4yh]
  5. Non c'è Votto oggi. 6. Insurance policies have supposedly become pretty rare in recent years.
  7. At the time of the release of Red Heat, Arnold Schwarzenegger was the unrivaled top box office draw in the world, leaving Jim Belushi undoubtedly in the second-banana/comic-relief role — the relatable one — but hey, co-billing is co-billing. Cool. Unfotunately, JB's market has fallen in the ensuing decades, leaving him to see himself on latter-day posters portrayed thusly. [fimg=450]https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51Gu59O2ZfL._SX342_.jpg[/fimg] It's enough to make you put away your coffee and pull out your revolver.
  8. Yeah, I think the Mets signed him after he cleared, rather than claiming him on waivers. Yeah, I wondered why Blevins wasn't in for the seventh too, but I get the idea that Mickey has ease off on him only facing the toughest batters on the most thankless situations. No, I don't know why he instead chose to go with the least experienced guy out there in Wahl-E.
  9. I have trouble fully accepting the idea that grownups with billion-dollar assets behave this way, but I sometimes tend to think the Yankees tack a premium on their offers when they're trying to sign a marquee free agent away from Boston.
  10. Jason Vargas and the Mets take on Sal Romano and the Reds. Game-time temps expected to hover around 90 degrees, with humidity at 70% and a 15% chance of precipitation. You know who's red-hot? That Jeff McNeil is red hot. [fimg=450:3qsdoyr7]https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51PWDMR128L.jpg[/fimg:3qsdoyr7]
  11. The beast is turning on itself, with the Yankees airing family business in public. [tweet:3ccr5f4q] [/tweet:3ccr5f4q]
  12. Joey Votto gives up running when he grounds out to first, not wanting race Flores to the bag. I don't want him anymore.
  13. Making tonight more pleasing. Rosario La Futura is bailing out on pitches over the middle of the plate and the outer half. He needs a demotion.
  14. A Dilson Herrera sighting! [fimg=600:rbf7c09d]https://metsmlb.files.wordpress.com/2015/06/img_6835.jpg[/fimg:rbf7c09d]
  15. Dive, Amed.
  16. Really a helluva situation to put Wahl in.
  17. A reliable lefthanded reliever would be nice in this situation.
  18. Pinch-run with Harvey!!!
  19. OK, Dave Eiland. Enough.
  20. I think McNeil just hit one, like ... Duda length.
  21. Frazier almost killing our secondbaseman. Any time he wants to come off the DL in his head would be welcome.
  22. Yeah, I thought they scrod themselves royally the previous inning when they got the first two on, 3-0 on Frazier, then he inexplicably swung at ball four. And even though he recovered to hit a long double sacrifice fly, the team came away with no runs. So here's to the tack-on runs. Key play was Rosario easily beating out a ball that would've been a double play for everybody else in the league except him and Billy Hamilton. Certainly every other righthanded hitter.

  24. Is the ice hockey better on the Ohio side of the river or the Kentucky side?
  25. Matt Harvey and the Mets press office. It's just like old times.
