  1. I hurt myself on my pants just reading that post.

They would also have to drive around in a sweet ride — perhaps the Mets bullpen cart. Only if Luis Rojas agreed to grow a nice, full mustache and more freely let them know when he'd had it up to HERE with them. This is working for me. And they get their scouting reports out on the concourse. After donning frumpy looking civilian garb, sunglasses, and bucket hats, they find a guy hawking programs that nobody has really taken the time to look at in 20 years, but may or may not be Toby Borland. He doesn't make eye contact, but reminds W&P that J.T. Realmuto is a sucker for the backdoor slider, and Rhys Hoskins sits fastball but is dead in the water if you can get ahead of the count with your breaking stuff. Seeing as the concourse is empty and this scenario cannot come to pass, it's been a rough season for Wacha and Porcello.
  3. Thanks, I've been doing a lot of squats and lunges and wasn't sure if it was showing.
  4. A Michael Conforto spray chart: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ehg_2ZEWkAAk72y?format=jpg&name=medium> Is that a gorgeous thing to look at or what?
  5. You're always making trouble for me.

  7. Let us not forget the Trachsel wars.

3 and 11 work for me, though 3 belongs to Neato. 7 already has way too many owners of distinction. 10 would allow him to move to a higher sphere of influence while transitioning within the realm of numbers ending in zero, which would be nice.
  9. Duh, 1969 Met Dr. Ron Taylor is still on the payroll as physician emeritus. Longtime 1980s and 1990s Mets minor league coach/manager John Tamargo is their short-season field coordinator, a position that I assume still has duties attached to it despite the lack of short seasons and fields to coordinate. David Aardsma, 2013 Met and Baseball Encyclopedia keynoter, reins as their rehab pitching coordinator.

Can we get Andrés Giménez an infielder's number or is he forever doomed to be an interior lineman?
  11. fWAR certainly seems more reliable than bWAR when I look at those rankings. I kind of like deGrom's chances at this point, but a lot of baseball is left (starting with today).
  12. With Bichette, Guerrero, and Cavan Biggio, they've demonstrated themselves to be tops in the league at scouting MLB daycare centers. Sexy exies include: Wilmer Font (who pitched 31 innings for the 2019 Mets and Fman missed all of them), Anthony Kay (pitcher picked in the late first round in 2016 [we were the pennant winners], but dealt off with 2018 second-rounder Simeon Woods-Richardson for Marcus Stroman), 2019 emergency Canó replacement Joe Panik. Bench coach Dave Hudgens used to be our hitting coach and was cute in that he'd interact with his players all offseason on Twitter. Pitching coach Pete Walker was a two-time Met of little distinction. Longtime base coach Luis Rivera was a 1994 Met. Color and analysis come from Pat Tabler and Cliff Floyd. Jon Lannan is on the payroll as a mental performance coach, and their abandoned domed stadium is named for CranePooler Steve J. Rogers.
  13. I don't know the Buffalo Blue Jays. I'm not altogether familiar with the Toronto Bisons either, for that matter.
  14. My favorite inextricably linked offseason pair of veteran starter imports is Scott Erickson and James Baldwin, who gave us a total of four starts. I think Baldwin got a minor league deal to be our #6 starter on layaway in Norfolk, so he's not really analogous, but Erickson was an ill-considered big-league dealio, and was supposed to open the season in game two, got hurt warming up, and didn't appear until a brief and ineffective showing in mid-season. Aaron Sele probably felt sorry for them both. Jason Vargas is probably doomed to forever be remembered as the embodiment of all hard-sell veteran starters brought in to eat innings in the back of the rotation. He replaced Bartolo Colón, who is probably the patron saint of all such figures.
  15. =Fman99 post_id=46200 time=1599705090 user_id=86]Nice glove work by Luis there to get even one out.
  16. Diaz has struck out a hard-to-fathom 19 batters per nine innings, but if anybody does make contact, he has yielded a .423 BABiP. Incredible.
  17. That drops the 2020 Mets stolen base percentage to 69.2%. I was expecting to find a number more like 39.2%. I stay with Familia and send Diaz in as soon as any baserunner reaches. But I know that's not what the manager is gonna do.
  18. You thinking of sticking with Fammy, at least to start the ninth, or going straight to Diaz?
  19. Reds lead 3-0 on a first-inning three-run homer off of Darvish by Mike Moustakas, who's only 31 but feels like he's been around for 20 years.
  20. I'm stuck with radio. Looking forward to seeing it. Hoping to see a win first.
  21. Conforto saves the world.
