  1. Leading candidate for the first 21st Century Met are Ronny Mauricio and Francisco Alvarez, currently running in a dead heat in Brooklyn.
  2. The no-hitter game picked up after the rain, but the O's managed a single and homer off the new Houston pitcher Brandon Bielak, who was just great in Blossom.
  3. It's honestly new to me also, but I'm trying to roll.
  4. Well, since that's all music by Queen, it doesn't say anyt'ing.
  5. Nice. And pretty closely got the ketchup-on-mustard color scheme. Fun fact: Stanley Tools and Stanley Steemer both use the same jet-black-on-mustard-yellow color scheme in the logos, and since I didn't specify, that poll selection could have represented either, and still was selected by nobody.
  6. Yes, but all I saw at the moment was that it seemed to emerge from beneath his hat in a similar manner.
  7. And the tarp finally comes out. Orioles down 7-0, and ... they'll still be here after midnight. Baltimore radiocast switching to Game 3 of the 1983 World Series. This Veterans Stadium crowd sounds raunchy and rabid.

  9. Almora for Smith, not Alonso? What hap't to playing for the tie at home, Homes?
  10. And here's a chance to do just that.
  11. If Pete gets on, and the Mets want to go back to the pinch-running well, they still have Almora on the bench.

  13. Two outs handed to them in one inning. That's horrible baseball. https://twitter.com/TimBritton/status/1407161102610403329 In fairness, Tim, one of those baserunners exited the game with an injury, and his replacement made an out on the bases.
  14. Two Houston pitchers working on a no-hitter into the seventh here in Baltimore.
  15. José Peraza making two mistakes in a row. Worst pinch-running job since Emil Brown. ... and Lindor puts the shit cherry on top.
  16. W.B. Mason probably also deserves a shout-out here.
  17. Ian Anderson followed by Chris Martin would be such a boring game, rock-wise.
  18. I'm launching the Donnie Diesel Deathwatch.
  19. Eickhoff is living pretty well right now.
  20. Alonso was off with the pitch, and even though he slowed on the way to second, probably felt some misguided moral compulsion to go for third.
  21. Not for nothing, but Jeff McNeil has what seems like a non-uniform durag peeking out from under his cap.

  23. Just to prove to you exactly how I feel Must Eickhoff myself to death just like Camille? — Irving Berlin
  24. And escaping!!
