  1. Ohtani lasts just 2/3 of an inning at YSIII Charged with 7 earned on just 3 hits but also 4 BBs and a HBP 7-2 in the 2nd
  2. I understand that an "L" is starting but McKinney and Luis are "L's" and they're in the lineup while fellow "L's" Dom and McNeil are not. I'd rather see McNeil get more ABs than Peraza. Both are better defensive options on the left side of the field (as compared to McNeil & Dom) with the LH Peterson on the hill. Probably a factor.
  3. TBR's Michael Wacha is getting pasted by the Nats -- 5 R, 7 H, 3 IP Not that he's the only one (he was Tampa's 4th pitcher of the game) but it's now 11-5 Nats in the 7th Trea Turned has hit for the cycle, his career 3rd
  4. I'll worry about all this when it comes to it. Because, until I hear otherwise, Nimmo & Davis seem like they are perpetually two weeks away from being two weeks away. Which sets them apart from Carrasco & Syndergaard who are two months away from being two months away.
  5. =Marshmallowmilkshake post_id=69552 time=1625020490 user_id=119] Diaz does not seem as sharp tonight.
  6. I'll say here what a skinny girl sometimes says: 'Boy a little padding here would be nice'
  7. Having AT&T as your internet provider is like inviting your boyfriend's obnoxious buddy to live with you.

  10. Leadoff single ------->>> no ball leaves the infield x 3
  11. Exactly how his last game fell apart and at the same moment. The good news is we can make those three runs up. The bad news is that we'll need 87 innings in which to do it.
  12. Guys playing sports while wearing jewelry is one of the (many) things in life that confounds me
  13. 18 innings vs Charlie Morton this season: 5 hits, 24 Ks
  14. A few more pitches than you'd prefer -- although 7 Ks thru 4 will do that and, let's face it, he's not going 9 no matter what happens -- but, so far thru 2 starts, Megill fills the bill.
  15. Megill needed five strikes to K Acuna in that AB ... but, alas, he only threw four
  16. One ball out of the infield thru 3 (F-8 by JMcC) ... ONE! And on just one K, so it's rolled-up wet newspaper time again.
  17. We can move a runner to 2nd, we can move 'em to 3rd ... its that final step we're having trouble with.

  19. Yeah, strategical arguments aside, it was simply one of the worst games all year. Eickoff put us in a hole in the first three pitches, and was still XBH-prone even when going 6-8 batter stretches of pitching effectively. The offense stunk, the defense was worse, and it took one pitch for an aging PH to re-put the game out of reach when we got to the pen. After a while I was having trouble paying attention and/or caring ... but at least the pace of the game was slow and tedious.
  20. My 2 pennies: ONE of Schwarber's HRs was (assuming the above chart is accurate) grooved, the other was a HOWDAHELLDIDHEHITTHATONETHERE!?!?!? kind of pitch. Whenever a hitter is hot a certain pct of fans tend to bring up the 'we should walk him every time' strategy. But that's a dumb card to play. You IW great/hot hitters sparingly and situationally, not constantly and haphazardly.
  21. Who DIDN'T see that one coming?
  22. Nice camera work MASN, have the cameras zoom in on the lower deck as McKinney's shot is sailing 10 rows deep in the upper tank.
  23. And just when I was about to suggest that teams might start IW'ing hitters to get to Alonso.
  24. LAA hurler Dylan Bundy did something most of us can only dream about: while warming up for his 3rd inning of work tonight at YSIII, he turned around and puked on the field right behind the mound. 'Heat exhaustion' was the official explanation. I'd call it 'Good Judgement'.
  25. A Cheap infield single with an error tacked on, followed by a HBP and a stick the bat out softie up the middle. Or, as the Mets call it, an offensive explosion.
