  1. Well, thanks to the length of Game 1, 3:37 when both halves were added (not including the 1:57 daly Tuesday night) and a bit shy of three hours just for Wednesday's 7-1/2 innings, and now the rain delay following the between game delay and there's no way I'm going to see the conclusion of this one. Not sure I'm going to make it to the beginning ... assuming there even will be a beginning. Hey, maybe they'll wind up rescheduling for two again tomorrow!
  2. OK Edwin, this is our first lead in like 62 days. Not just our first 9th inning lead but the first one of any kind since I can't remember when. Please don't blow it.
  3. That was Pete's hand signal for, 'Yay, I'm no longer oh for my last 25'
  4. They didn't do nothing, they both hit really high pop-ups.
  5. I think Klobositis is one of the side effects of Covid Pete needs to vaccinate a pitch here.
  6. The third of which was closer to the 1st base dugout than the plate. Good thing the Nats delayed the game an extra two minutes to come up with that strategy. No way they could have known how to pitch him otherwise. 2:15 just to get to the 7th inning ... and they started in the 2nd!
  7. And because Baez is a PH, this does NOT count as a mound visit!!
  8. McNeil, surprised at being sent ... but not as surprised as the Nats.
  9. Well, we got a couple of innings of Rich Hill followed by one of poor Hill.

  12. =duan post_id=74072 time=1628639387 user_id=99] I don't blame Dom - and think you could well be right but it does play in to the “they manage to find a way to fuck it up”
  13. And speaking of 3R HRs, July 19th is the last time the Mets had one of those. I'm sure none of this will come as a surprise to anyone here but: -- the last 7 HRs the Mets have hit have all been solo HR as have 13 of their last 19. The other six have been five 2R HRs plus a Dom GS -- the 3R HR came on 7/19 on a day when the Mets tallied seven against the Reds: 3 solos, 3 2R HRs, and a 3R job
  14. We didn't have a great camera angle on that play, but I don't know about that out of the baseline call. It seems to me that we've seen that called much more strictly this season and Dom seemed to be well within reach of the base.
  15. And the insurmountable lead had been established. Of course a solo HR would have achieved the same result.
  16. Good thing Pete won the July award because I think he's oh-fer-August so far.

  18. Lionel Messi inked a two year deal with PSG today so he's off the market. Prior to that I was just figuring that as long as we're going to score at the rate of a soccer club he might have been a good fit.
  19. Maybe Lindor & Squirrel need to duke it out in the tunnel again. Other than that I got nothing. And, yeah, I know you're never really as bad as you look when you're blah blah, nor as good as you look when yadda yadda, but the rest of this season has the whiff of 10-40 to it with maybe an upside of 15-35 if both Lindor and JdG get green-lighted sometime before Turkey Day. I know that sounds almost impossibly negative but at this point I could make at least as many arguments for it as against.
  20. The Hot Corner wrote: Game over, though as the Phillies bring in Kennedy. The Mets will likely not get another hit. Kennedy has thrown 3.1 innings as a Phil and has allowed 3 HRs
  21. NYM bats seemed to be Lloving that Philly pitcher.
  22. Another day, another clutch 9th inning HR by the Mets
  23. But while the game itself is horrid, ar least it's long and slow. Over 2-1/2 hours just to get through six
  24. This is just fucking pathetic. Nothing off the bat in this series (or the last one for that matter) even resembles a hit including the few hits they do have (7 in 15 innings). If it weren't for walks and grounders to Bohm we wouldn't have any baserunners.
