  1. That young boy do hit the ball hard when he connects.
  2. =MFS62 post_id=137188 time=1694466281 user_id=60] Of course that stuff was said when we traded Jared Kelenic who was also a very highly regarded prospect. At last look, Kelenic has played in parts of three ML seasons for Seattle and has a slash line of 201/288/378 with 32 HR and 109 RBI in 826 AB. Let's see how good Crow-Armstrong really is before we bemoan this trade.
  3. =TransMonk post_id=137043 time=1694266097 user_id=71]I'm an immaculate or nothing kind of guy.
  4. Just in case you weren't sure that the clown car rules were stupid enough: in the Bronx yesterday, the game where both teams were scoreless through ten innings and where the home team was hitless through ten, wound up 4-3 in 13 after the Yanx scored four times on one hit in each of the 11th, 12th, and 13th innings while the Brewers were only able to manage three runs on two hits over that same span. I liked it better when they settled baseball games by playing baseball.
  5. 8 unanswered runs for the Brewers in the Bronx last night, 7 unanswered today. Tied 2-2 going into the 8th, ended 9-2 But I bet Old-Timers day was fun for the crowd. New-Timers day, not so much.
  6. I'm starting to feel pessimistic about the odds of my IGT streak being continued.

  9. Doug Mientkievicz and Carlos Gomez only 11 & 5 HRs as a NYM I didn't think of either Tuefel or Escobar ... which explains why I suck at I.G.
  10. 4 hits last night 5 so far today
  11. Both Steve and Ronnie have altered the pronunciation of Luplow from Lup-Low to Loop-Low during the course of the game. Loop-Low is how I remember his uncle Al's name being pronounced. Howie probably straightened them out.
  12. =kcmets post_id=137042 time=1694265318 user_id=53] People dancing, people laughing A man selling ice cream Singing Italian songs ... Can you dig it
  13. Two straight two-out hits in both the 2nd & 3rd innings are what's ruining Peterson's afternoon so far.

  15. A real live one o'clock local time Saturday afternoon baseball game (2:10 EDT first pitch) just like old folks remember from their youth. David Peterson and Kenta Maeda will be your starting pitchers and, in honor of the start time, both will go the distance while throwing 150 pitches. As a result, the PointBets line on the combined runs scored for the game is currently set at 23.5
  16. The Brewers, down 2-0 early, did the Lord's work tonight by pounding out 16 hits and scoring 8 unanswered in da Bronx to re-drop the Yanx a game below. 500
  17. Once again the bullpen will be widely blamed for the loss. Once again the lineup has amassed four hits.
  18. Two runs in with one ball leaving the IF all inning. Well, two counting the attempted throw to 3rd base.
  19. Q: How many bad throws can they make on one play? A: All of them

  22. I went with Palmer as well. Mussina didn't occur to me. Went back to BALL FOUR and dredged up Steve Barber for MIL/BAL, an inspired (IMHO) and <1.0% choice Another inspired choice would have Billy Beane for MIN/OAK (young Billy is in both unis during flashback scenes in the movie) but that was NOT one that came to mind in time.
  23. 8 hits, 4 BBs, plus a runner via a K/passed ball but just two runs because of 2/12 w/RiSP But, yeah, it's the bullpen's fault.
  24. Another wasted leadoff runner.
  25. Three consecutive scoreless/hitless outings prior to tonight ... so he's at least sometimes with the program.
