  1. Can't claim to have seen THAT coming.
  2. By the time it fell from the scoreboard it was foul by six feet. Where it was prior to that ... ?
  3. Mauricio 6/6 in SBs while simultaneously leading the league in earrings.
  4. Pretty stupid for dedicated fans to need to re-familiarize themselves with a division opponent during a series in September! But MLB doesn't think of the downsides of revamped scheduling because they're too busy touting what they believe to be an upside.
  5. Remember that it's 6:40 starts in Miami
  6. 4-2/3 scoreless and hitless vs CIN bullpen with two outs to go.
  7. 11 NYM hitters retired in a row ... the last 7 on about 20 pitches.
  8. Orioles, having been caught by the Rays after two straight head-to-head losses, take back 1st place for at least the night with an 8-0 pasting.
  9. Well that was a productive inning (not).
  10. This game not exactly flying along: just shy of two hours for five innings. High pitch counts on both sides. At this rate there's no way I'm seeing the end of it.
  11. Not that it means anything to the Braves, but the Marlins hung a six-spot on 'Lanta in the bottom 8th, all coming after two outs and none on!!! A Jazz Chisholm 2-strike/2-out Grand Salami was the coup de grace and obviously this was a huge deal for Miami as they suddenly turn into NYM fans for the rest of the weekend.
  12. If Ohtani did indeed pack his bags and leave it was likely with team permission as he was put on the IL today and will not play again this season. It also means that Pete will best him in HRs That didn't look very likely a few weeks back.
  13. Yanx get four in top 9th to beat Pyroots. The ball off the skull play actually tied up the game and the Bucs went on to take a two run lead later that inning which they held ... until they didn't.
  14. Alexis Diaz, a Puerto Rico native, also does #21 w/o the nameplate.
  15. DJS looked like he was having trouble with Greene's velocity. Maybe is dangerous here as the tying run.
  16. Nice arm on Ronny M.
  17. And, once again, getting runners on with no outs reduces their odds of scoring.
  18. Once again, they've got just four hits to this point. A fifth and a sixth here would really help things along. But we opt for the routine GiDP instead.
  19. Well that didn't last very long.
  20. It's not easy being Greene.
  21. Wind blowing in? Eh, not a problem.
  22. NYY pitcher Anthony Misiewicz (3rd game for Yanx, recent waiver pickup) just got drilled in the head by a liner in Pittsburgh. Ball then sailed into RF. Conscious, but obviously not in good shape.
  23. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Greene doesn't have a nameplate. His teammates do #21 is his regular number so he removed the nameplate for tonight because it's Roberto Clemente day
  24. Jonathan India Mark Portugal Al Holland Ty France Carlos Correa Chad Bradford Germany Schaeffer ...
