  1. CATCH OF THE YEAR
  2. Smith tells Loretta to get back. Maybe later on he'll make Lamb lie down on Broadway.
  3. OK, here we go. This Albers guy has given up 65 baserunners in 39 innings. Time to tee off.
  4. You just can't spell 'leadoff single' without S-CH-O-E-N-E-W-E-I--S ... or something like that.
  5. Edgy DC wrote: Good call by Alomar. Alomar ws waving him, Green read the situation and stopped on his own.
  6. Green's smarts just saved Sandy Sr. from tallying up another one in the 'Out at Home' file - and it would have been the worst decision to date.
  7. I assume Sandy Alomar Jr is still on the roster meaning Castro should be used to try to pop one.
  8. First ball Beltran's had out of the infield all game ... and it still sucked.
  9. Mota gets behind EVERYBODY but survives.
  10. Cairo actually made 3 errors overall, and Jeter GiDP'd in the 9th inning of a tie game in addition to that game-ending force-out.
  11. These games are much more nerve-wracking on the road.
  12. Pelfrey - 1.5 Heilman - 0.5 Mota - 0.5 Easley - 0.25 Beltran - 0.25
  13. Iubitul wrote: Am I the only one who remembers that we were in the beginning of an ice age 30 years ago? There was a "Scientists Warn' story on that in Newsweek some time in the '70s. Gore at least got some good news this week ... his kid proved that, despite being a gas-saving hybrid, a Prius can still go 100 MPH.
  14. Not to me - at least I don't think so.
  15. Changing the settings on my screen accomplishes nothing. And, more to the point, why would THIS place be the only website, forum, whatever I visit that is too wide for the screen?
  16. ]Does the banner scroll off the right side of your screen? Or does the combination of the phpBB graphic and the banner fit okay, but only the posts scroll off? Both the main page and every post falls off the right side.
  17. My only complain is that the display is wider than my screen requiring me to scroll to the right in order to read everything. Am I the only one? Can it be fixed?
  18. Maine - 4.3 Delgado - 2.0 Castro - 1.6 Ledee - 1.2 Beltran - 0.6 Wagner - 0.3
  19. Pence actually caught one of Ryan Howard's drive on that hill the other day, right up against one of those flag poles. Just Delgado's luck tho huh? Hit's one 430+ and gets only a double.
  20. Don't worry 'bout leaving them bases loaded like that Carlos ... it's not like we're gonna need those runs later or anything.
  21. ]The forum will be unavailable tomorrow from 8:00 am until around noon NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Thursday - 8:05 -- Maine vs Jennings (1-3, 3.69) Friday - 8:05 -- Pelfrey vs Wandy Rodriguez (5-7, 4.23) Saturday - 7:05 -- Glavine vs Woody Williams (4-10, 4.57) Sunday - 2:05 -- ??? vs Roy Oswalt (7-5, 3.52) 1B: Lance Berkman -- Also plays the OF, but hurts fewer people playing 1st. Had a slow start (for him) but is picking it up lately 2B: Biggio -- HoF-bound Astro lifer has just gotten his 2007 OBA over .300 SS: Mark Loretta -- playing in place of the injured (and best defender) Adam Everett 3B: Mike Lamb -- Another 1st baseman/DH disguised as a fielder CF: Hunter Pence -- Rookie called-up in May, has impressed with raw skills though still needs a bit of polish. Ideally should be in LF (heard bad things about his CF work to date) he's like a bigger version of Eric Byrnes LF: Carlos Lee -- Good power hitting DH in a non-DH league RF: Luke Scott -- Also should be in LF
  23. I suspect we may see him after the AS break
  24. two in the top of the 1st ... will probably be our last as per recent trends.
  25. Not that either of those first two ABs were Pence's (CF) or Berkmna's (1B) fault ... but Houston is a bad fielding team in that they've got about 5 guys on the field at one time whose best position is LF/DH/1B (and, once again, we don't know our enemy as well as we should)
