  1. Never in doubt! (yeah suuuuuure)
  2. I guess Manual preferred a lefty PH against one of the Yanqui RH relievers instead of Tatis so no double-switch ... although I suspect if Willie did the same he'd get criticized for not knowing HOW.
  3. Nice job PF! Billy vs Jeter, ARod, Posada in the 9th. Ummm, how 'bout around 6 runs before we get there?
  4. ]They take photos of everyone on a 40 man roster, see the 25 man roster thread here 1) That you know that scares me 2) He wasn't on the 40-man until yesterday If nothing else I like our OF defense as it is now.
  5. Well he's been in the major leagues for all of 20 minutes 12 hits, 3 runs.
  6. SteveJRogers wrote: David Robertson has no MLB.com photo! You need it for your collection?
  7. Delgado - Church - Chavez Yanx are bringing in their LH reliever ... oh wait, they don't have one!!
  8. No further damage - but those little shenanigans means they'll get the middle of the order up again in the 9th.
  9. $@(%#! Do NOT let this run score!!!
  10. btw, that cheezy infield single we got from Luis for the first run means that now we're only trailing in that category about 9 to 1 this weekend.
  11. Nah, just reacting to your early game comments in this one.
  12. We need to win this one just so bmfc1 doesn't fly into full-fledged rant mode.
  13. This is the TBS game of the week for you non-NYers Girardi loading up on the righties against Ollie - Abreu, Cano & Giambi are sitting with Damon as the only LH starter. Gives them a lot of bench for later on. Be nice to smack Rasner around and make all that meaningless

Weaver's error was properly scored as one, although it was a tougher play than the one they gave Jeter a pass on yesterday. As the story mentions, this one doesn't qualify as a REAL no-hitter. MLB went through its record books a bunch of years ago and threw out a whole slew of "asterick" no-hitters including those less than 9 innings (like this one or those shortened by rain), those lost in extra innings (Haddix, Maloney et al), plus a bunch of other oddities.
  15. Santana - 3.0 Feliciano - 0.5 Sanchez - 1.0 Wright - 1.4 Castro - 1.0 Easley - 0.6
  16. Hey, Johan just got a call. According to my local weather channel it's gonna start pouring in Queens in the next 20 minutes. Won't last long.
  17. Usually Pettitte has to balk to get his pick offs. Reyes just made that one easy for him.
  18. Where da fuck are you going dude?!?
  19. KC wrote: The radio here is a good five seconds ahead of the tv. It usually is. But since I seem to be in the small minority of fans who aren't bothered by Buck/McCarver I'm listening to the TV feed. I can't believe they scored Tatis's bouncer a hit.
  20. And they FUCKIN DO IT AGAIN!!!!! That's 3 IF grounders that resulted in two hits plus a non-DP. And it's only the 4th inning!!!!!
  21. Once again another NYY grounder hit too shitty to be turned into a GiDP. I've seen this movie before.
  22. And just in case you're trying to keep track of the Yanqui moves since the end of game 1 yesterday - Hidecki Matsui DL'd -- Sydney Ponson called up - Ross Ohlendorf sent down -- (off)Kei Igawa called up - and today it (off)Kei Igawa sent back down (how's that $46mil investment going?) and David Robertson brought up. Robertson is a RH reliever who was a middle-round draft pick from 2 years ago.
  23. Church on Sunday? -- Sounds like a good day for it. Or if not Sunday then almost certainly for the Cards series starting Monday Alou back? -- Moises to play in a rehab start (not sure where) on Monday! Manual hopeful to have him by the Phils series starting Friday. I know, I know ... IF there are no further setbacks.
  24. Rain delay - probably short-lived. Looks like we'll get the Chicago-v-Chicago tilt on TV until then.
  25. Things I remember from the Matt Franco game - MFY fans crying about a non third strike call a pitch or two before the GW-single - MFY fans crying that the Met players "celebrated too much" after the win - That I was so wound up after watching that (4-hour?) game that I went for a bike ride afterward to blow off some steam, and that I was so caught up in re-running the game in my head that I wasn't paying attention to where I was going until I suddenly realized that I was 15 miles from home ... and that it was raining.
