  1. In case you need some additional proof that Dodgers fans are among the worst in the league: -Fans doing the wave while the Dodgers are pitching...and a fan in the $500+ Dugout Club seats directly behind the plate turns around as the wave is passing through and moons the camera. Not coincidentally, Bryce Harper hits the pitch for a double. That's karma, douchebag. -Fan on the field as the Dodgers had multiple runners on in the bottom of the 9th. Then Mattingly has the temerity to come out and complain that the previous pitch (a swing-and-miss-strike) shouldn't have counted due to time being called for the fan running on the field. Then there were the fans going nuts in the LF corner because a ground-rule double which barely cleared the low fence bounced right to them. Their celebration seemed oblivious to the idea that had the ball stayed on the field it would have tied the game. "Yeah, it was a bad break for the team ... but the important part is that we got the ball and got on TV" The last three innings in that game were a wild ride.
  2. Harper just made a PERFECT throw from LF to cut down the tying run at the plate ... except the catcher dropped it. 1-1, Dodgers still batting in the 7th.

Pulling the ball had the same effect and it almost became a double. I'm with LWFS, if I'm going to bunt in that inning it's with Tejada up, a runner on 3rd, 1 out and a 2-run cushion already in your back pocket.

Terry will bunt the runner over 2-3 times a game, but nary a bunt to get a fucking run IN. Although it's not like Ruben distinguished himself last time he bunted.

  7. Baxter = doubles machine Tough to argue about what Byrdak's done so far. Only 4 hits in nearly 7 innings of work including 2 for 8 (now 9) vs RHBs
  8. Only one Rox base-runner since the 4th inning ... but I'd still like to see about a half-dozen runs before they get one more whack at it.
  9. The move to Byrdak was as much to go lefty/lefty with CarGo and Helton as it was about the pitch count me thinks. Almost didn't work but it was nice to see a liner hit AT Duda for once instead of him hitting someone else's glove.

Should be gettable at this time of night unless you're in a bad reception area. Must be in one of those. It often helps if you place the radio near a window, particularly if it's an east or north facing one in your case ... but urban areas are always tough to predict.
  11. Gee sharp in 6th & 7th - definitely striking a major chord.
  12. Duda both hitting today and hitting into bad luck at the same time. Robbed once and that last one was an at'em ball -- could have 3 more ribbies.
  13. These two-out rallies are nice and all, but it would be a whole lot easier if they weren't starting their innings w/2 out and no one on.

  15. This thread needs some lineup action 1) Kirk Nieuwenhuis CF 2) Ruben Tejada SS 3) Daniel Murphy 2B 4) David Wright 3B 5) Lucas Duda RF 6) Scott Hairston LF 7) Ike Davis 1B 8) Josh Thole C 9) Dillon Gee RHP 1) Marco Scutaro 2B 2) Jonathan Herrera 3B 3) Carlos Gonzalez LF 4) Troy Tulowitzki SS 5) Todd Helton 1B 6) Michael Cuddyer RF 7) Wilin Rosario C 8) Dexter Fowler CF 9) Guillermo Moscoso
  16. I heard about Inge yesterday and immediately thought of him as the righty bat off the bench we could use. He never was a real high average guy to begin with, but he took his walks, had some pop, and could give you good defense at several positions including emergency catcher. On the flip side, he turns 35 in a few weeks and has been sub-.200 for the last 300 PAs over two seasons. IOW, there are reasons beyond the Miggy-to-3B experiment why the only team that has ever employed him is releasing him.
  17. I think that was the first decent throw we've made tonight.
  18. I wish we were allowed to hit 3R HRs too.
  19. Plus, with the length of the 5th inning tonight, Moyer, who we face on Sunday and was 49 years old when the game started, is now 51.
  20. We are now out-hitting the Rox in this game.
  21. When was the last time they had a four error inning?
  22. Gwreck wrote: At least we just gave up home runs and not a walk-off passed ball like the Tigers did tonight. Yeah, I was just going to say that in the midst of all this the Yanx won on two consecutive passed balls. It was a Verlander start too.
  23. We may be here for a while tonight.
  24. Y'know, I had forgotten that Tulowitski was such a douchebag. And then I saw his haircut. And then I remembered that he's a Jeter fan.
