  1. That's 22 HRs off Sabathia this season - one off the league lead.
  2. Gee Sox, why don't you just hand them the fuckin' series? On Saturday you ran into four outs on the basepaths including twice at home. Today you've provided the Skanks with two walks, one HBP, plus two errors (including a sure DP turned into NO outs) all in just the first two innings!!
  3. Some bits and pieces from the first weekend back - How'd Ja Like ... the Mets gaining two full games on the entire NL East Saturday & Sunday? The weekend sure didnt look like it was going to end up that good while in the midst of the Friday night debacle. - How'd Ja Like ... the NL East teams NOT named the NY Mets scoring a total of three runs on Sunday? Braves = 1, Nats = 2 (both in garbage time), Phils & Marlins both shut-out - How'd Ja Like ... the Marlins not scoring since before the ASG? They got shut out three straight by the (bad pitching) Brewers including Sunday when they went 13 innings before losing 1-0. - How'd Ja Like ... that the Nats cant score for shit? They scored five runs off Dodger pitching for the entire series and got swept despite having Strasburg, Gonzalez and Zimmermann all lined up. - How'd Ja Like ... Houston pitcher Erik Bedard taking himself out of a no-hitter on Saturday? One out into the 7th with 109 pitches under his belt in a game tied 2-2, Bedard told his manager Im Done during a mound conference. Astros went on to lose 4-2 depite Seattle getting just one hit. - How Ya Like ... the Dodgers creeping to within a 1/2 game of first place out west? Part of it is the mediocre division out there (Arizona is in 1st at just 3 games over .500) but, considering how their season started, they've had to crawl a long way just to get there
  4. And the Koosman ERA should almost come with an asterisk attached coming as it did in 1968.

  6. It's the new KaBoom review, coming right at you.
  7. I've seen that ad without ever really paying attention to it. One of them is pitcher CJ Wilson. Josh Hamilton is in a hair ad too although that might be a different one.
  8. Yeah, he made it; there were several angles.
  9. btw, Roy Oswalt is NOT starting today, just Lee and Harvey.

  11. Zvon wrote: Skankee catcher made a pretty amazin' play yesterday. The BoSox ran into about four different outs on the basepaths yesterday - including twice at home. btw, Yanx & Sawx were the FOX game on Saturday and are the ESPN Sunday Night game tonight ... what are the odds?!?!?
  12. Hey Charlie Manual, want them to review THAT one too?
  13. Germen - 2.0 Wheeler - 1.0 Rice - 0.4 Hawkins - 0.4 Murphy - 1.5 Lagares - 1.5 Young - 1.0 Byrd - 1.2 Wright - 1.0
  14. Gee - 3.5 Atchison - 0.3 Parnell - 0.2 Byrd - 1.5 Buck - 1.5 Young - 1.5 Murphy - 1.0 Wright - 0.5
  15. After games where the two teams took turns scaring each other out of the security of their supposed safe leads, it'll be aces at twenty paces for the Sunday matinee.
  16. "And they win the damn thing ...." Nothing like a tidy little 8-1/2 inning 3h 40m game.

  18. I think All-Stars should get to keep those stars that were on the back of their collars during the ASG for the remainder of the year. But I just checked David's shirt and they're gone.

Robbins the actor is a big Mets' fan ... can't be plunkin' fans. Tony Roberts is the big NYM fan (I rode an escalator with him at Shea one time) Although if it makes you feel any better, I think Tony Robbins, that 6' 8" motivational guru, should be plunked in the rump every once in a while just on general principles.
  20. I thought 'RED' was deplorable so I don't think I'll be adding my two cents to this poll.
  21. I was surprised that he brought Germen into the game in the first place (I figured on a more veteran reliever for such a high leverage spot) but the kid gave a good account of himself. Now as long as Rice doesn't fall apart here.
  22. I'll never tire of seeing well-turned DPs

  24. Zvon wrote: Playing catchup. Looking to see how we scored. Did this really happen to start the game?: Eric Young : Ball, Strike looking, Young grounded bunt out to center. No, he flew out.
  25. At some point Terry might want to think about getting Murphy and his .303 OBA out of the 2-spot.
