  1. =Centerfield post_id=202303 time=1756172576 user_id=65] Nimmo should be on third.
  2. Please don't forget to score more runs, Mets. oe: Torrens has very good hearing.
  3. I agree with the hold at 3rd. LF was very shallow when he got to that.
  4. 2:20 just to get through 6 innings. Of course Mic-Gate had a lot to do with that, but it's been slow otherwise. First because Senga was all over the place and then Sanchez was later.
  5. I was wondering why Castillo wasn't starting the 6th with a lefty batter up. But between the lengthy warm-up time he had in the pen and that ridiculous 14 minute delay for Mic-Gate, to bring him back would have been after his third up-down despite pitching to just two batters. At least that was Luis Rojas's explanation for why Rogers started the inning.
  6. Senga: 92 pitches to get 12 outs, more than 50% higher than what you'd like to see. 92 is a decent total for six full innings, not four plus one batter.
  7. Between the 3rd base coach's hold on Marsh's double to RF, and then Harper cutting off the throw from RF (and/or not relaying it) the Phils may have gifted us two runs [negative one on their side of the ledger and a +1 on ours]
  8. =Cowtipper post_id=202275 time=1756168661 user_id=166] Don't they usually not play on Monday?
  9. Gary has been 'pre-declaring' GiDPs a lot lately, and has been wrong on many of them. He did it twice tonight early, although not in the two most recent GiDP situations.
  10. Phils have five hits including three for XB Mets have one ball out of the infield: Taylor F-8
  11. 65/3 You simply can't have any kind of sustained success when you're racking up numbers like these Every. Single. Start.
  12. Pitches thru 2 innings: Senga = 42 Sanchez = 27
  13. Mets are 7-14 in August, Phils are 15-7 Pretty much sums up the state of the division 'race' right there.
  14. Phils won, Reds won, so no good news for us today. Cal Raleigh hit HRs number 48 & 49 today. A record for a 'primary catcher' and on pace for 60.5 HRs for the season BoSox couldn't make it a four game sweep in the Bronx.
  15. Syracuse is pitching Sprout today behind an opener as a way of getting him 'bullpen' experience.
  16. Mets STILL have never swept a series at this ballpark since its 2017 opening.
  17. OK, not the ultimate moment we would have liked, but nice two strike hitting and we'll take it!
  18. So how many times have we said: 'Here's an opportunity for a BIG Juan Soto moment'? And few, if any, times it's been answered.
  19. This game is an example of non-clutch pitching. In the 6th Peterson had three shots at closing out a scoreless inning and failed to get the 3rd out each time allowing two runs. In the 8th Soto also had three shots to get the 3rd out and also allowed two before finally getting the fourth batter out. Seven shots at keeping the inning scoreless and the hurlers went 1-for-7
  20. I'd rather see Soto swinging 3-0 than Pete swinging 0-0 in that situation.
  21. Good news: runners on base Bad news: Soto up I kid, I kid
  22. Too many walks, a couple of non-calls on borderline pitches, a few soft hits, and a GiDP attempt that Mauricio/Baty were slightly slow to turn all contributed to the two tying runs. Meanwhile the Mets have three hits thru 7, and nothing since two two-out singles in the 4th.
  23. We haven't exactly tattooed Elder in these last two starts, have we? 5 runs (4 earned) over 12 innings for a guy who otherwise has an ERA north of 6.00

Nothing like being forced to play your home games not only in a minor league park but one owned by a rival team and named for a rival owner (the guy who constantly hated and berated the very existence of your franchise). And now you lose a weekend date due to an exhibition* football game. * Sorry, I meant 'pre-season' football game. If the NFL heard me using the word 'exhibition' they might send goons to my house and beat me to a pulp
  25. In fairness to Blackburn, he was good for 2-1/3 after coming in w/runners on and 2-out in 6th. He got out of that inning then pitched a scoreless 7th & 8th in a game which wasn't yet out of hand (5-1). But Yanx' bats did nothing while he was there before the roof fell in on him in the 9th. Under normal circumstances he would have been relieved after a couple runners. But he was essentially hired to give other relievers time off so Boone left him out to dry and he eventually faced 11 batters in top-9 and giving up 7 runs without even anyone warming in the pen.
