  1. Six fewer runs and 33 fewer pitches than yesterday's top of the 1st So that's certainly what we like to call a nimprovement.
  2. Edgy MD wrote: Zero bases on balls for the Mets. Two straight games/16 innings of zero BBs
  3. Mets first 7 batters = 6 outs, 1 single Next three: three straight hits Next 12: 12 straight outs
  4. Gary: "Everyone in the stadium was rooting for Seaver that entire game" Me: I most certainly was not!
  5. Too close a pitch for McSquirrel to react that strenuously. If that same pitch happens next year I don't think it's even a good hat-tapping call.
  6. Most of the action this weekend will be coming from the west coast - Reds (-1.5) in West Sacramento - Diamondbacks (-3.0) @ Minnesota - Cardinals (-4.0) @ Brewers - Giants (-1.5) host the Dodgers and just for funzies, Yanx @ BoSox Yanx have a half-game lead on the Sox for the #1 & #2 WC slots and are 3.0 & 3.5 games in back of the Bee-Jayz Currently 2-0 Yanx in the 5th
  7. Well, three fly outs beat the hell out of three Ks or IF pop- ups
  8. It's very difficult to hit into a triple play with runners on 2nd & 3rd ... but if any team could pull it off it's the '25 Mets
  9. Maybe Tong was called up too early.
  10. Top 1st: 42 pitches Bottom 1st: 6 pitches
  11. Rangers have an insurmountable lead for tonight ... and for tomorrow's game.
  12. The final 25 NYM batters retired (for 26 outs). In innings two thru 9 the Mets had zero batters reach and managed just three balls out of the infield. In innings two thru 8 the Phils reached base 13 times and scored six of them.
  13. Another inning, another 1-2-3 (22 straight), another inning with nothing even coming close to getting out of the infield.
  14. Pitches thrown thru six innings: Phils 72; Mets 119 12/inning vs 19.83
  15. Frayed Knot wrote: The only question remaining is whether or not the Phils win this game by double digit runs. I need to correct myself, the question is whether or not the Phils will gain a double digit lead in this inning
  16. =Centerfield post_id=204121 time=1757638089 user_id=65] This is shaping up to be the [CROSSOUT]worst[/CROSSOUT] most predictable loss of the year.
  17. Don't worry, it's only Schwarber up next so don't worry if you walk this guy. Or give up a hit ... either way.
  18. Since Marte's 1st inning 2-RBI double, three NYM batters have managed to get a pitch out of the infield.
  19. The only question remaining is whether or not the Phils win this game by double digit runs.
  20. Another inning, another Phillies leadoff runner on. The second time it's been in scoring position.
  21. 16 Mets now down in a row ... and seemingly on about 25 pitches.
  22. And, even after that top of the 1st, Luzardo is pitching in the 6th inning and Peterson's not going to.
  23. Oh good, another leadoff hitter on (3rd in 5 innings). No way this comes back to bite us. Just like it didn't bite us last night.
  24. And now 13 in a row, the last three after the lead was halved.
  25. After starting: 1B - 1B - Double Steal - K - RBI 1B - RBI 1B - 2 RBI 2B ... the net ten batters have gone down in order (and produced 11 outs).
