Probably the latter cuz I can't figure out why it would be specific to Cespedes.

So it's Cespedes for the rest-a-des ... year. Can sign him to a FA contract this winter of course but so can everyone else. This deal also means he'll be on his 4th team in the previous 366 days (assuming he suits up by tomorrow). A year ago today he was traded from Oakland to Boston who took an instant dislike to him and dealt him to Detroit in the off-season. But for right now he hits, he fields, he throws, he runs a bit but rarely walks and our OF and lineup just got a bit better. Now let's get Wright, Cuddyer, Matz & Blevins back and take the fuckin' division.

The time to use Duda was in the middle innings when the bases were loaded and Gio just pulled. If Terry went to him there w/bases empty and 2 outs the Nats would have just gone to their LOOGY Thorton to face Duda and the two lefties behind him: Johnson & Grandy.

I thought he'd be a good platoon half for the 4th/5th OF spot - and if he had hit anywhere near his career OPS (734) he would have. But instead he threw up (pun intended) the worst season of his career by a long shot (an absurd 545 OPS) to the point where his LHP splits were worse than his career vs RHP numbers and for a guy with large split differentials that's not a good sign. It's not like he didn't get his chances either, he started every game vs a LHP plus got his share of PH ABs as well. And the really worst part is that he was the better of the two OF backups.

I'd like to think that with tow half-innings left to score against their one that the advantage is with us but I don't think the bullpen situation is. Personally I'd prefer to stick with Clip-Art for the 9th no matter what the score is except that he threw 34 pitches to Werth alone.
