Hey Rick Sutcliffe... go F yourself.

Can the Mets sign the Netherlands' catcher?
-
Reyes is not in the lineup for the DR team--instead of being in PSL, getting some ABs, he's sitting on the bench today.
-
And here are today's pitchers: Jonathon Neise Mike Antonini Heriberto Ruelas Adam Bostick Carlos Muniz Duaner Sanchez Rocky Cherry Eddie Kunz. WOW!
-
The Dominican Republic team gets an upgrade as Fernando Tatis replaces Alex Rodriguez. This makes 16 Mets who are participating in the WBC.
-
Alex Rodriguez's cousin will perform the surgery.
-
Reed is supposed to be a great fielder so the team will need him as a late inning defensive replacement for either Murphy or Tatis. My money is on Reed to make the team.

Did he get the cyst from his cousin? -
I hope the people that plunked down $20 for today's Mets-Cardinals ST game enjoy this lineup: Castillo, 2b Garcia, rhp Murphy, lf Tatis, 3b Church, rf Anderson, 1b Schneider, c Sullivan, cf Coronado, ss. I wonder if attendance and ratings of ST games will decline while the WBC is taking place. It wouldn't have been a bad idea for teams to cut ST ticket prices while the big names are away but baseball doesn't think like that. [u:ed2a72f2dc]Cardinals lineup:[/u:ed2a72f2dc] Colby Rasmus cf Joe Mather 3b Albert Pujols 1b Ryan Ludwick rf Chris Duncan lf Khalil Greene ss Allen Craig dh Jason LaRue c Joe Thurston 2b (Kyle Lohse p)

Bad day for the Mets and the NL East, but a good day for the Nationals, as moron Jim Bowden "resigns" as GM. In a classy move, he blames the media. Here's a happy website: http://firejimbowden.blogspot.com/ Let's hope that Omar doesn't hire him as an adviser.

Francesa wouldn't even go to the field or clubhouse for the interviews--he sat in the pressbox and wanted to conduct the interviews over the phone. FAN management blew it when they let Russo go and kept Francesa. Russo knows how to run a talk show, Francesa does not.

Jerry swapped Livan and Freddy for Niese and Parnell so the vets could avoid the bus trip on Saturday. From Adam Rubin: "Being a veteran has its privileges. The Mets have flipflopped some starts. Originally scheduled to make the 130-mile bus trip to Lakeland on Saturday, Livan Hernandez and Freddy Garcia have been moved to Friday's home game instead. Rookies Jon Niese and Bobby Parnell get on the bus instead."

Adam Rubin writes: Joseph Ethan Putz was born at 12:40 p.m. ET.

Enjoy! Just don't try and keep score of early ST games.
-
It looks like the MLB Network will have 2 or 3 ST games each day, using a local feed. Friday's game will be on live, w/the SNY crew.
-
I wonder why Jerry has 4 "name" pitchers going in the "B" game on Friday morning while using a cast of hopefuls in the regular exhibition game which is on SNY and MLB Network. Perhaps he wants to see the hopefuls in a game situation but it would be nice to see the names in February.

I wrote something questioning Jerry for insulting Church by saying that Murphy was a better hitter than Church is, "right now" but after reading some accounts with more context, I wasn't sure if he really was insulting Church at all.
-
This isn't the first time that MLB Network has shown something else than was in the listing. Not very professional.

I'm thinking, and definitely hoping, that Omar is trying to avoid having the likes of Brandon Knight, Brian Lawrence, Dave Williams, or a rookie such as Phil Humber, start a game in the final 2 weeks of the season. This has been my biggest criticism of Omar: that he doesn't have the team protected for the inevitable injuries that have occurred the last two Septembers. His failure to have a back-up plan has necessitated the above "all-stars" starting key games. Perhaps Omar is thinking that he can "store" Livan and others in the bullpen and/or Buffalo for the year and insert them into the rotation as necessary.

Add Livan Hernandez to the list.

Mr. Administrator, Can we please change the name of this thread to simply "MLB Network" as it is long since passed the preview stage? I appreciate this thread as my online TV Guide still doesn't include the program names for the channel. Thank you.

The Mets have to give a long look at their Rule 5 picks: RHP Darren O'Day (Rule 5 selection from Angels) and RHP Rocky Cherry (Rule 5 selection from Orioles).

Alex: "God is doing this for a reason." Yeah, to expose you as a fraud, you self-righteous jackass.
-
Real classy Alex: he accuses Selena Roberts of breaking into his house, scaring his kids, and only doing this because she has a book deal.
