  1. I think the Giants need to build around their pitching and overhaul the every day lineup, with a better lineup maybe Zito wins more games .

  3. Never heard of him either, served as the Pirates third base coach under McClendon ( was fired along with him )and was the Phillies AAA team manager the past two seasons.
  4. Jim Breuer and Jerry Seinfeld talk Mets baseball, anyone catch this on Breuer's Sirius radio show? Here's a blogger on it. ] Jerry Seinfeld on Alex Rodriguez and the Mets 2007-11-03 22:19 by Scott Long Hey, have you heard? Jerry Seinfeld has a new movie out. I actually heard an interesting interview on his promotional tour on Friday. Comedian Jim Breuer has a really fun show every weekday afternoon on Sirius Satellite Radio and he did a great interview with Seinfeld. There can't be 2 comics who are much more different in their styles, be it on or off-stage. Seinfeld is meticulous and sharply sarcastic. Breuer is bombastic, bigger than life, bringing a rock and roll feel to his comedy, following the example of his metal band heroes. The one common bond the 2 share is that they are both huge Mets fans, something that Breuer talks about on a regular basis. During their sitdown, Seinfeld brought up how he wouldn't want ARod to join the Mets. I'm paraphrasing here, but it is Seinfeld's basic contention that he doesn't like all the deep breathing he does before each at-bat. He said that ARod seems to almost be tantric while preparing for each pitch. Seinfeld then discussed how he felt that Willie Randolph needs to go back to his Yankee look and lose the Harry Reems mustache he has sported more recently. Jerry is conservative when it comes to baseball and believes the Mets manager should lose the porn stache, as it sets a bad tone. Just like most comedy, this retelling loses a lot in the blog translation, but the whole segment was hilarious and made me wish that Seinfeld would do an hour a month on some talk radio show, breaking down sports in his observational comedic way. Discussing the future of the Mets, Breuer did your typical rabid fan take, believing that the Mets should trade their whole bullpen to the Twins for Santana. He obviously doesn't realize that the bullpen is the area the Twins need the least help in, but I enjoyed his passion about the game. There are questions about how much MLB pitchman Dane Cook knows baseball, but there is no doubt how strongly these 2 comics feel about the game. My experience has been that very few comics I have run into have any interest in baseball, so it was really cool hearing a couple top-rate comics like Breuer and Seinfeld discuss the game from a different perspective than you get from a pure baseball analyst. ******************* http://www.sirius.com/rawdog
  5. Yeah really James does put some major effort into this stuff. If you could take any player from his top twenty five who would you take?, I'd take Felix Hernandez, I dunno but I love a stud pitcher.
  6. Utley is 28 and won't be 29 until December 17th so why is he not on the list, James stated that he left players off that were 29 or older during the 2007 season, I guess James doesn't think Utley is that good. Howard is 27. meanwhile James also ranks the teams. MLB Team Rankings
  7. Very cool by SJR and Cooby.
  8. That then would be the major conflict.
  9. There would seem to be too many conflicts involved with a player having a piece of the team.
  10. Like the visuals. Chew Chew Coleman
  11. Joe Hepatitis
  12. Shaun of the dead Fitzmaurice
  13. Cheers, hell of a game.
  14. Thanks bucket, your coming through big time tonight.
  15. Why would Kris Benson be the most looked up yesterday on UMDB?
  16. My favorite game from 2005 and one of my all time favorite games ever, was fun to watch some of it again. Where would we find the IGT from that night?
  17. Satan Alou.
  18. How about you click on the link mate.
  19. Some of this stuff is unbelievable . Mets signing Posada is a no-brainer Sticking it to the yankees is not a reason to sign Posada or anyone for that matter.
  20. Some of this is unbelievable . Mets signing Schilling is a no-brainer Sticking it to the yankees is not a reason to sign Schilling or anyone for that matter.
  21. I'd like the Mets to win two of four so I could put his theory to test, perhaps a more competitive WS would have helped or if they had played the yankees in the ALCS . Still I doubt many will feel bad for him.
  22. John Stearns - uttered the famous line " the monster is out of the cage", just really liked his passion for the team. Mookie Wilson - liked him for his personality more than his coaching skills. Rick Peterson - like to listen to him talk pitching and he seems to have some success( insert 10 minute joke here ) Tom Robson - loyal Valentine coach.
  23. Wright was on with Jon Stewart last night. ] Wright, who made an appearance last night on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." As of late yesterday, Wright said he hadn't yet touched base with Minaya, but Stewart raised the touchy issue with him on the show, saying, "This has got to be hard. He's a third baseman. They say, 'Oh, maybe the Mets will go after him. You're the Mets third baseman. Do you call them up and go helllloooo?" The smiling Wright replied, "Just seeing the way that Boston celebrated, seeing the winners of the World Series. First and foremost I want to win. So am I saying that I would change positions for a guy like Alex Rodriguez? "If the front office called me, and said, 'Hey look, we want to make this team better and you're involved, I would absolutely want to sit down and listen. But for right now, I am the third baseman of the New York Mets. I am going into the 2008 season prepared to be the third baseman of the New York Mets." Stewart, a Mets fan himself, argued against getting A-Rod, calling him "bad medicine," the "Dick Cheney of baseball" and "a bad chemistry guy." When Stewart asked Wright if chemistry was important, Wright grinned, "[Fifty-four] home runs are important, too, last time I checked." As for offseason trades, Wright added, "I love my job here, I don't want to go anywhere, so no trades for me hopefully. I hope we go out and make some improvements. I think, the pitching side obviously, that kind of fell apart down the stretch. We could use another big bat, maybe in the outfield."
  24. Fascinating to read , I was thinking too that it would be great to read that type of analysis from his best years but pitch-f/x is new to this past season.
  25. I'm not disappointed anymore and not surprised by even squeaky clean nice guys getting caught taking stuff they shouldn't be taking.
