  1. Glavine speaks. I wanted to keep family in Atlanta
  2. Article complete with poll. Speculation
  3. This is hilarious, between watching "talk soup " and reading this I am laughing so hard.
  4. If Glavine is second behind Carter then that would be far, far behind him I would think.
  5. The fist pump, I think against the Yankees, anyone remember what I am talking about?
  6. I thought the voting was secret , probably harder to keep things secret now days though.
  7. His first season start against the Cubs and his last season start against the Marlins, I had expected so much in both. The road to 300 and the fact that he was a decent guy.
  8. I got accused of being a spammer on the Oakland board( has message boards for every team), on the thread " make a deal" I posted about possible deals between the Mets and A's, the mod there PM'd me saying I was spamming and not to be trying to recruit members from that board to here. Of course the problem might have been me PMing him/her to say we have a great Mets board here, much better than the Mets board he was posting at, I didn't know it was a mod I PM'd.
  9. BTW don't click on "frencVic" link.......of course now you will.

However, I faintly recall him saying something about a bouncer at some club. So I dunno. All I know is, he's certain that it was somebody in the know. Must be the bouncer that told about his hard partying ways.
  11. Seems like a sensible deal .
  12. Well now his deal for $275M+ looks a real bargain.
  13. Did you approve new members 161 through 175?, the only one that looks remotely real is " FrencVic " who I'm thinking might be Vic's cousin.
  14. That deal probably sets the bar for trading to get starting pitching, I guess Garland would be considered frontline material.
  15. Only the Yankees could spin this deal as a bargain, Michael Kay was on the "Sports Reporters " yesterday and wasn't buying the spin that Boras was nowhere near this deal.

    Sicko

Liked it , not great but at it's best when dealing with regular Americans that had medical insurance and got screwed by their carrier, thought the stuff in Cuba was very staged, I know plenty of people in Britain that rail against the NHS and the system in Ireland is the same and people complain all the time about it. Having dealt with both systems I would take the system here over what most of the rest of the world has, but I have good insurance so obviously that makes all the difference. Not long after watching the movie Saturday night I was Chanel surfing and came across a HUMANNA TV late night rip off.
  17. ] Sources: Mets close to re-signing Castillo Ken Rosenthal FOXSports.com, Updated 31 minutes ago The Mets, overcoming stiff competition, are close to re-signing free-agent second baseman Luis Castillo to a four-year, $25 million contract, according to major-league sources. The deal, the Mets' first major move of the off-season, would resolve the team's opening at second base at a time when they are unsettled at catcher and on the verge of losing left-hander Tom Glavine to the Braves. The Astros, Nationals and Cubs all had expressed interest in Castillo, whom the Mets acquired from the Twins for two minor leaguers last July 30. Mets officials last week met with free-agent shortstop David Eckstein, who played second base in the minors with the Red Sox's organization. But Castillo, 32, was their first choice. A four-year contract for Castillo amounts to a risk, considering that he has battled leg problems over the past several seasons. But when healthy, Castillo is a dynamic top-of-the-order presence. The Mets are not oblivious to medical concerns they ended negotiations with free-agent catcher Yorvit Torrealba over the weekend, apparently because of questions about the condition of his right shoulder. The Rockies are considering re-signing Torrealba to a two-year deal. The Mets likely will revisit other options at catcher, including a possible trade for the Orioles' Ramon Hernandez and Rangers' Gerald Laird. Castillo had a .296 batting average and .371 on-base percentage in 50 games with the Mets last season. A three-time All-Star, he began his career with the Marlins before getting traded to the Twins after the 2005 season and the Mets last summer.
  18. It's going to be very interesting to see why Minaya does here, go back to LoDuca or try and trade for a guy, Laird or Paulino(is he under contract), or does he say he is comfortable with Castro as the number # 1 guy and get a back up. I think he would be cautious trading for a guy in this market.
  19. LoDuca I think would have interest in signing back, he knows the business of baseball, the guy that broke the story for the Denver Post was just on the FAN and thinks that something with the physical made the Mets back away.

  21. Never heard about Castillo being a bad influence on Reyes, not saying it's not true though. If not Castillo then I hope they trade for Hudson, at the least he can play second base, the scrappiness factor for Eckstein is probably overrated .
  22. Villarreal to Astros. The Braves sent reliever Oscar Villarreal to the Astros on Friday for outfielder Josh Anderson. The versatile Anderson, 25, played all three outfield positions in 25 games for Houston and batted .358 (24-for-67). Villarreal, 26, was 2-2 with a 4.24 ERA in 51 games for Atlanta last season. Braves make a contract offer to Galvine, one year at $9 or 10 million.
  23. All explained here . Bonds
  24. Omar needs to get Micah Owings, he can hit and catch when he's not pitching.
  25. Did Victor Diaz lose weight and change his name to J.A. Reyes?
