Is this causing any juice around the league? I'm not all that jacked up about a 46 year old winning #300 , still I'd think about going to the game if I lived in DC......Edgy should go .
FOX News last night led with the tease " breaking news about Mets start Carlos Beltran , more on that later". I already knew from this forum what they were going to talk about. They dragged it out for about twenty minutes only for Gregory to tell us that a Mets insider told him that " no , Beltran does not have swine flu". I just right now spoke to our lab director who happens to be a great pulmonologist and he says getting swine flu right now would be a good thing , providing of course that you don't have any underlying problems , or very old or very young. This Doc says that when this strain goes to the southern hemisphere and mixes with other viruses and then comes back here in December and January you would be immune to it.
="Kong76"]A62: Is Beltran out with some sort of flu or virus or have we moved to the othopedic doctor with a knee? <<< News abounds on the internet, seek it out, it will energize your soul. m'rish: I think they do fireworks for home runs <<< *throws sneaker in m'rish's direction* Sorry KC , was that you taking the piss? Santana sucks .....{ducks}

What gets me though is the likes of Keith and Ron say that Manuel is "unconventional" and thinks "outside the box". I don't see it.
="LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr"]Am I drunk, or is it a little bit early for a LGM? (No, wait. I'm drunk and it's a little bit early.) It's never too early.....LGM works even in December , it's best expressed when the winter meetings commence.

F Martinez does look like a player and will stay no doubt. If he does stay how will he factor into the OF mix, providing the players are healthy , not counting on Pagan there as mentioned it's expected that he will be DL'd.
It actually wasn't as easy as I thought to find his coaching staff. Didn't baseball reference list the entire coaching staff at one time? , I couldn't find anything there about the A's 1982 staff except the manager.
It doesn't mean these were the guys there as Martin's muscle but these were his coaches in 1982 Art Fowler, Charlie Metro, Clete Boyer, George Mitterwald, Jackie S.Moore, Lee Walls
Jeez , Ron and carlin trying to sell us on the idea that Manuel brought Parnell in for the 6th so" the young man wouldn't feel a sense of entitlement " and that "I'm the 8th inning guy"...also Manuel doing that to let his veteran know that " hey your still my guy".........buuuuuuuuuuuullshiiiiiiiiiit
