  1. As an Irish person of Mexican descent I am tired of the constant piss taking of Ollie.
  2. Baseball and oldies intersected for me in a most disturbing way last week when Dwight Gooden's rap sheet gained another entry and Johnny Maestro passed away. Great line But I saw him perform under the brightest lights, and he was magnificent, unmatched in my time covering the game. That's quite a time and statement.
  3. Expect Davis to OD , WTF is going on with this team?
  4. He'd fit right in at home Duan with that tracksuit . I remember listening to Newstalk online a few years ago and the correspondent was out and about in Cork City talking to people and a Japanese tourist remarked to him that Irish people must be very fit , " why is that" radio guy asked, " because everyone wears tracksuits here". Andy rig-out would look fine down Mulberry Street.
  5. Article that went with the pic I posted You may know Andy Martino as the Columbia Graduate who became a Phillies beatwriter for the Inqy via the New York Daily News (I read his profile!), but there is a slim chance that you really know Andy Martino. He doesnt do nearly as many radio and TV appearances as say, a Todd Zolecki, David Murphy, or Scott Lauber, plus hes only been covering the team for about six months now. So chances are, you just see him as that guy who took over Zoleckis beat. Well that all changed last night after he appeared on CSN Phillys pre-game show out in San Fran. Andy showed up for his taping looking less like an MLB beat writer and more like a cross between an extra on the set of Swingers and that cat from Clueless who would rather watch Tony Curtis movies than bang Alicia Silverstone. http://www.thefightins.com/meechone/andy-martino-phillies-beat-writer-hipster/
  6. I tend to agree with Wolf here , and to me Garko is one of those players Mets fans covet but in actuality would probably suck if he ever got here. From The Seattle Times Sources said the Mariners placed Garko on waivers Tuesday, having been largely unimpressed by his glovework since the start of spring training. The team had initially hoped Garko, earning just $550,000, could be a first-base platoon partner for Casey Kotchman, but instead wound up considering him and Sweeney to be vying for the same right-handed designated hitter's job. Sweeney's reputation as a player of tremendous character may have been the tipping point.
  7. Benjamin Grimm wrote: metirish wrote: Trivia might well be his best contribution to the Mets. Maybe. But who knows? Maybe there's a Todd Pratt-style home run in his future. That would be great , in a similar situation wold be even better.
  8. G-Fafif wrote: metirish wrote: Gary Matthews I guess has a shot at doing this twice. Indeed, GMJ has a shot at moving off this list and moving onto the Recidivist Met list. Or he could be traded before April 5. He's getting very trivial on us. Trivia might well be his best contribution to the Mets.
  9. Gary Matthews I guess has a shot at doing this twice. good work Greg.
  10. European playboys drive them a lot. Meanwhile may I present to you Richard Queer all dressed up as a fucking douchebag. Actor Richard Gere, right, talks with New York Yankees' Reggie Jackson, left, and Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland prior to a spring training baseball game Sunday, March 28,
  11. K-Rod's new Lamborghini was just delivered this morning to the players lot via flatbed truck. Shortly afterward,a crowd formed. That's K-Rod with his arm wrapped looking in. Newsday Only a douche would drive that with his arm wrapped .
  12. I got to say that I really don't mind Heyman . In no way for me at least is he down there with the likes of Klap and Verdouche. Heyman too is worth following on Twitter , he often has good stuff.
  13. Per Lennon , The moving truck has arrived Which means it's almost time to head back to New York. The Mets will be loading up the truck over the next 24 hours. It leaves at noon on Wednesday. Getting close to that magic day. Hold it right there , is that City Field in the pic?
  14. And has been rubbish in all eight numbers .
  15. one scout said, "He won't be No. 5 for long.'') Is that good or bad, I guess the scout means that Niese will be moving up the starter ladder.
  16. Fucked , we are fucked , see you in October loosers
  17. Hold on, a Mexican gives up two home runs and they are not wind aided?
  18. You betcha sonny
  19. I'm making my Manuel as Hitler sign for opening day.
  20. BOC , wish I had thought of that.
  21. Oliver Perez. Why? Fat, soft, overpaid Mexican mental case. Hilarious I agree with Dickshot and I'll add Manuel to that list. Frankly Opening day is a day nobody not even fat overpaid Mexicans should get booed.
  22. I haven't watched the show although I have heard of it. Fran Healy is hosting I believe.
  23. It's a ruse , he's not making the team right?
