  1. Damn.....nice trophies there gurl
  2. Are you saying that this was a procedural mess up by the Mets?(can't view link)
  3. Very well said Grim. I really like what you said about taking a day or two to pick a manager for 2011 and beyond.
  4. Far right has nice legs. I'd eat chips out of her nickers so I would.
  5. Francoeur 2 Feliciano 1 Meija 1 Igarashi 1 Wright 1 Blanco .5

  8. I think that was 2005. Piazza had the cigar waiting for Willie and his first victory as Mets manager.
  9. I gotta ride the soup train on this Lets Go Mets
  10. Looking at their starting three and there is nothing to be scared of, of course need to play a whole lot better.

Wright may be the one guy that had the power to get rid of him in the offseason though. Maybe he should've spoken up. I hope the Mets can put up a 12 game streak. I think they're capable of it for sure, but i do agree that it probably won't happen until we have a better manager. Sometimes I do wonder if Manuel manages the team like losers because they've lost recently, or he just doesn't know any better, but we've needed a guy that's going to focus the team on winning and massage egos and pump up confidences. I don't like Manuel all that much but I would that no player would have the power to be rid of a manager . I'm sure I am naive but I would hate to even think that a player is going to ownership with such nonsense. When was the last time the Mets put up a 12 game winning streak? ( I'm actually just curios on that)

  13. Screw O'Connor , the guy probably couldn't wait to write this column about the Mets , he acts like a little horny dog when he's around yankees , trying to hump their legs. FWIW here is what Fancoeur said Jeff Francoeur acknowledged as much, practically admitting the players all but assumed an easy day because of the Santana-Hernandez matchup on the mound, the two-time Cy Young winner vs. the ageless soft-tosser whom the Mets released last season. "I think this was one of those games, looking at Santana vs. Livo, we felt comfortable," Francoeur said. "We've seen Livo, we've played with him, faced him, we felt like we could score some runs. "And whenever you have a guy like Johan on the mound you almost take it for granted what he's going to do. To be honest, when they scored those four runs in the first inning, for me it was like a shock." Francoeur also said he thought the early runs allowed Hernandez to change his approach, which may or may not have contributed to the Mets' woeful day at the plate. "You know him forever, he's going to throw pooh up there and get you to swing at everything," said Francoeur. "Today he kind of attacked the zone on us early, and we didn't do a good job of adjusting to that. It's disappointing." 14. It's pure tripe , still , Gary Cohen in the booth yesterday was repeating the " Mets need to win games started by Santana/Mets can't afford to lose games started by Santana" line. It's just not a good way to go weather your a fan or team mate (Francouer basically admitted that they thought this was a gimme game) , or management. Santana is human after all.
  15. Edgy DC wrote: Wright not running hard was the real indicator, to me. With three subs in the lineup, we need some focus from the remaining regulars. The game won't fall into your laps, men. I thankfully was doing ribs on the smoker after the first inning and didn't see any of the rest of the game , what happened with Wright?
  16. Ceetar wrote: Friday was dreadful. I was there, and I'm not a particularly vocal guy, and I just feel foolish when I was standing on the bridge and Pelfrey gets to two strikes and it's the last out of the inning and there's a runner on second and I start clapping. . That's really fucking sad when you gotta feel foolish because you are clapping...." wow if I start clapping all these people will start looking at me and wonder WTF I'm doing it for"............. This reminds me of what then Manchester United captain Roy Keane said about the increasingly corporate crowd attending Manchester United home games. Sometimes you wonder, do they understand the game of football? They have a few drinks and probably the prawn sandwiches, and they don't realise what's going on out on the pitch. Any Man U player will tell you that their support at away games is by far better than that at home games....more vocal despite a ticket allocation of only a few thousand.
  17. A good true middle reliever with good SO numbers would be worth picking up? , not that thee are nay out there.
  18. Gary Cohen remarked during the game how quite the crowd was.(IIRC it was during a possible key Mets moment)
  19. What to do with Brad Lidge , per yahoo RHP Brad Lidge's first rehab appearance was not encouraging. Pitching for high Class A Clearwater on Saturday night, Lidge gave up four runs on three hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning. He is rehabbing from offseason elbow surgery, and he suffered a setback during the last week of spring training, when he had a cortisone shot on his ailing right arm. (Yahoo! Sports) I'd dump him but the RP list is not all that encouraging and whomever I pick up could hurt me more than the idle Lidge. Vic , sorry I didn't get back to you in a timely fashion regarding the trade proposal(you cancelled it anyway)
