  2. I remember Burkhardt's interview with him during the season, Feller was brilliant in the interview.....it might well have been Kurkhardt's career highlight.
  3. Rest in peace
  4. Grim , it that your score card?

  6. Fafif foresees how things will go for The Hudge , I laughed heartily reading this http://www.faithandfearinflushing.com/2010/12/13/get-to-know-the-new-hitting-coach/

  9. And Handsome Kev wants in on that shit: KBurkhardtSNY Kevin Burkhardt @NewYorkMets hey Dave, can you come down to the clubhouse so I can interview you? Kevin B 21 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply And even with that Burkhardt still gets the first question in

I think he asks the right questions, it just appears that he doesn't have the sources or access to the answers that some of his competitors do. He's been here long enough though that you'd think he'd have that access now, I wonder if his fellow beat writers have let him in to that circle at all. Perhaps his year away covering the Phillies created some kind of undue animosity towards him? Or maybe people really don't like his attire? I saw him one night on SNY with Lennon , they didn't sell as the two shortest bear writers going but they could have...anyway , Tracksuit sounded like that kid in The Polar Express with the annoying nerdy voice who knew all about the train.

Lots of information swirling around the Twitter, some of it questionable. For example, if the Phillies sign Cliff Lee, Ill cover spring training in a Speedo. This will definitely make me take you more seriously.

  15. My overriding feelings are of elation that the MFY's didn't get him and throwing the most money at a player for once didn't work. Their fans were so cocksure that Lee would be coming, so as much as anything this is a fuck you to them. I am also cognizant that the NL East just got that much tougher but I feel that we have the right men in place to build our team in to real contenders. I am confident that Sandy Alderson and his group are not quaking in their boots at this and for that I am happy.
  16. Edgy DC wrote: To every Yankee fan who snarktastically responded to getting knocked out of the playoffs by Lee's Rangers saying, "Don't over-pitch him too much --- we'll need him to report to spring training fresh and healthy," this is bad for them. Therefore, it's good for America. And what's good for America is good for the Mets. Trust me here. And, by the way, this is Derek Jeter's fault. Pass it on. Filip Bondy among them, did you save those emails LWFS ?
  17. A stunner alright, Heyman was ejaculating all over twitter last night about this possibly being the best starting rotation ever.Let's have the press conference first Jon why don't we. Nice to see the yankees and their sense of entitlement get turned down, Chris Young anyone?
  18. G-Fafif wrote: HahnSolo wrote: Sandy on the FAN with Francesa Right Now! And he will take calls. Missed it till now, but just heard Mike announce they will open the phone lines. Alderson getting a real education in baseball from Francesa. Gosh he's lucky. Not that he asked but Mike is telling Alderson why the Metrodome roof caved in.
  19. I heard Sandy is planning a baby sitting service for those that buy the tickets , Cyclone players will be sent around your house to babysit if they are off that night.
  20. If you take that call you can't be critical of the Mets ever again.......
  21. That was a very interesting read.........was it the Mets or Sandy that reached out, does it matter?
  22. As yes , good ole Guy....used to look like he was chewing rocks giving those interviews.

Leaving aside the lack of names, this has the makings of being a really intriguing, skilled bench. Paulino KILLS lefties, and Duda did the same to righties in the minors and showed flashes of plus-power in the waning days of last year. Emaus/Murph/Hernandez make for an interesting, deep MI miasma. Toss, say, a Fred Lewis in there-- someone who can handle backup work, is a decent enough glove to come in as a defensive "closer," and gets on base some with the bat-- and we've got a stew going. Turner plays-- or "plays"-- short, too, no? You sold me at Lewis
  24. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: And the Mets confirm. I know nothing about him, save his having been a Dodger scout at one point, but "Debus" sounds like the booger-eater in your second-grade class. What really does the bullpen coach do?, organize parties and shit?
