To add to the mix in Philly, Lidge was paraded before the game, he retired as a Phillie to huge cheers. Those huge long term contracts to closers have to be some of the worst business in sports.

Our bench is currently in the outfield...sorta anyway.....there was a lot of talk during the game last night about Baxter.....a good man off the bench when he's right, by his own words he hasn't been right.

After reading what he says I'd not be surprised if Byrd was back next season. I like what Young has done and Lagares has good tools.

Exactly, while Rodriguez getting banned for life makes good headlines I would much rather a smaller ban, the MFY still paying him and Rodriguez coming back to absolutely suck .

Here's what I don't get...now, I don't care for Rodriguez in the slightest....not one bit, but reports have Selig throwing the book at him, lifetime ban and if he appeals that Selig will invoke " integrity of the game" to keep him out. Again, I don't care for Rodriguez but unless Selig has compelling evidence this seems like bullshit, dare I say bullshit pushed by the MFY? What could he have done that is worse that Braun?, he cheated, lied and smeared people.

It might be a better option for Ike only because he's a squinty eyed useless hitter right now....I don't remember getting on Delgado for not dropping down a bunt.....I have a vague memory of him doing it once though. Delgado is one one the all time great sluggers....Ike is a squinty eyed useless hitter.
