  1. Shin-Soo Choo, OF: The Mets have already been linked to Choo and it's no secret they covet his high on-base percentage and modest power (though his poor history against lefties makes it hard to think of him as a franchise-savior). If the price is comparable to Hunter Pence's 5-year, $90 million, he'll be elsewhere in 2014. hardly a ringing endorsement for a guy I keep hearing the Mets must sign......I confess to knowing not much about him but with all the talk I didn't expect to read that...course it's one opinion.
  2. uh, still not getting it, can you give me a few more analogies Steve?
  3. bmfc1 wrote: Russo also said that the Mets were being cheap for only paying Collins $1 million a year. He said something like "he's the manager of a New York team, pay him like a New York manager." isn't that such a Russo thing to say?, based on nothing more than location, never mind the team is crap.
  4. With Russo saying this and Piazza having the team in his prayers daily things are looking up.
  5. Francesa yesterday on the Indians " look, a team that won 92 games and there is not one good player on the roster, not one". I didn't fact check games won or the roster, but damn.
  6. Willets can assign me a team.
  7. metirish wrote: Not surprised I guess, I really have no idea what the expectations are with this club right now or next season. Well, now I know, just saw Terry at his presser saying " we have big expectations going into next season, time to put some wins up".
  8. I agree Edgy, not sure if Alderson expected that to be part of his job when he was hired, he has certainly adapted to the role though.
  9. Edgy MD wrote: Alderson on whether the Mets could award a $100 million contract: "Thats more of a strategic question than a resource question." Fantastic. Part answer, part deflection. He'd make a great evil genius. He certainly makes a good asshole.
  10. Now I know why mine never sold....
  11. IIRC Stubhub sets the price when you submit a ticket to be sold, based on comps with similar tickets. I know it did when I had a ticket to sell for a concert(it didn't sell")
  12. I do not see any images , just little boxes.
  13. Ceetar wrote: the only thing they need to do is win. That's 99% of the attendance/revenue and that 1% 'everyday low price' is probably not worth giving up the added revenue of pricing the good games higher. If the Mets win more than 80 games next year, 2015 attendance will at least approach 3 million again. No matter how or what they market it or what they price it at. 3 million?, I think that is very optimistic , only in the first year of CF did they get to that figure. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/NYM/attend.shtml
  14. Totally agree, I thought there would be a lot more of HIS teammates there instead of the old reliables that always get trotted out.
  15. What Terry did was very cool, he got a great hand for it, after going to CF he came down our side in RF and was getting a standing ovation. The 7 Line crew are great, made lots of noise, how does one go about joining them?
  16. Loved Mike's line about teaching his son how to hit " and I told Jeff that the Mets will have first crack at him....... But he won't be cheap", big cheers. Leiter gave a nice tribute from the MLB studio, Surprised Zeil wasn't there and Lenny Harris.
  17. That was hilarious to read, thanks Steve. I'll do a KTE.
  18. Fun game to attend, the festivities were cool, apologies to Metfairy for not seeking you out in the parking lot, traffic sucked and I was scrambling after that to pick up my tix etc, big crowd today, nice to see.
  19. Nice story . "everybody's gone".......kind of sad too.
  20. Not surprised I guess, I really have no idea what the expectations are with this club right now or next season.
  21. That video is hilarious, filmed in NYC look like, was that the Whitestone? 5 years $90 million I saw in Twitter.....they said it was close.
  22. You did, apologies.
  23. You know, I knew when I posted the link it would become about Megdal, last time I do that. It is rather annoying that he gets under your skin so easily, yes, you and Ceetar have a lot more to offer than that, yet you both get hung up on him. ON EDIT - Annoying is the wrong word there, frustrating I think is what I am looking for.
  24. I've been seen articles about this, squeaky bum time here and the Mets winning games might or might not be a good thing....right now the Mets have the 11th "best" record in baseball....the worst place to be says Megdal, losing last night left them where? http://www.capitalnewyork.com/article/sports/2013/09/8534093/lets-go-mets-or-not how much should I care about this?, seems like I should but are there lots of variables going on?
