  1. Ronnie said it seems like he is tipping his breaking balls, which could be disastrous for his cahnfidence and his results. Over two starts (waaaay too soon to make a final judgement), he reminds me more of Pelfrey than of Harvey. With his gas and build, the ceiling is high, though.
  2. Alex Rios (.284/.344/.472/.816) is really the the best offensive threat they have. Dunn can go long, but Rios does a little of it all. The one hit against Harvey back in May vs. Chicago: Alex Rios.
  3. Jeff Keppinger: DH. Yup, that Jeff Keppinger.
  4. He was my favorite player for about 72 hours.
  5. Is it just me, or are the Mets involved in more walk-off games than usual this season? It seems to be happening more than most seasons on both the winning and losing ends.
  6. Guided by Sheffield, Journeyman Pitcher Is Now a Star
  7. Niese is young, we have a few more years invested in him and the team isn't winning any pennants this year. If there is a choice to be made, I say give him the surgery and have him as healthy as he can be for 2014 with as few question marks as possible. I am very wary of this just working itself out. That type of situation NEVER works out for the Mets.
  8. Oh....you're right, you're right, you're right. If I add up the totals in the final screen shot above, they do include Wheeler's stats...he's just not individually listed on the breakdown. No worries then...they just presented it very confusingly. Thanks for checking...this had been worrying me all day.
  9. Liked his blog.
  10. I'm pulling for him, but Marcum seems like quite the letdown after yesterday's hype.
  11. So....I've got a problem. I have Zack Wheeler on my team and I set him as one of my starting pitchers yesterday. This screenshot from last night shows that he was set: Last night, I noticed that he was not being included in my live updates: I thought maybe they would fix it and give me the stats this morning, but they didn't: I can see that they still have him listed in AAA (as a player for Toronto...I can only imagine that is because Las Vegas was the Toronto AAA affiliate last season). Maybe there was some snafu with him being promoted as the 26th man on the double header roster and then sent back down. But he did pitch a major league game, I did have him set as a SP and I could use the 6 scoreless innings and 7Ks. Ceetar - is there anyone you can contact (or I can contact) at the league to check on this. Part of the joy of this league is that it is a keeper league. Drafting Wheeler back in March of 2012 and waiting 15 months to start him only to not get his stats would be a bummer.
  12. Gary just gave the same stats on first appearances by players based on the decade of their birth that BG did in today's earlier. IGT Gary Cohen: Cranepool Lurker?
  13. Bats left, throws right...wasn't aware of that.
  14. Recker helping out Wheeler. KABOOOOOM!!!
  15. A fine debut...I like our kids.
  16. MLB.TV is not picking up Bobby O. back at the studio....dead air. It's like Gary and Ron are talking to a ghost.
  17. Second much better than the first. Let's score some runs!
  18. Chipper and Wheeler's parents? I'm not sure I like that.
  19. metirish wrote: Terry didn't load the bases , just to be full and frank on that issue. It is Terry's job to gauge his starters, though. Anyone who watched Harvey pitch the first 7 innings could see that he clearly didn't have the same stuff in the eighth.
  20. I still believe this is all due to Terry trotting out Harvey for the eighth. Harvey went from having an excellent line through 7IPs to having 3 ERs through 7+IP. Doh!
  21. Agreed, I would have gone to the pen for the 8th.
