  1. deGram vs. the Cubs in 3 career starts: 6.46 ERA

Mattingly presumably counters with putting in his lefties, and then you can go back to Niese/lefty. This is why I found it strange that Colon pitched in Game 3 over Niese. Can Colon go back to back days?
  3. So, I don't want to get ahead of ourselves here, but since this thread is about Harvey... If the Mets were to make it to the NLCS, I would be a big proponent of just starting Harvey in Game 1. I believe the team has already decided that he is only going to pitch one game in any remaining postseason series, so why waste that bullet? Harvey showed in Game 3 of the NLDS (and multiple times during the regular season) that he is less effective on long rest. Pitching him in a possible Game 1 situation of the NLCS would put him on normal rest where he has historically been more effective. The rest of the series rotation can be dictated on opponent and match-ups, but if they are going to wait more than 6 days to pitch Harvey again, they might as well shut him down because I'm not sure it is worth it.
  4. I'm pulling for the rook. Not a large enough sample size for me to gush cahn-fidence, but so far, so good. I'm more weary of Niese being the long man rather than Colon tonight...but it shouldn't matter when Matz throws 8 innings of shutout ball.
  5. Alright...let's take this one tomorrow. Fuck going back to LA.
  6. There is no method to Terry's bullpen madness.
  7. This shit needs to end, NOW! End it, Mets.
  8. I have to think Niese will be saved in case a long man is needed tomorrow since Colon was used today. Get Goeddel in.
  9. We're now at the most runs the Mets have ever scored in a postseason game. Time to start saving them for tomorrow.
  10. I keep telling youse guys that Grandy can't hit lefties! And I'm wrong.
  11. Mattingly wants a review down by 7 runs?
  12. Nice to see d'Arnaud coming around. Much needed.
  13. The booth making statements that make it sound like this game is already over...I don't like that one bit. Still six more outs for the Mets to get.
  14. If Gonzo is going to homer, better that it is a solo shot when the Mets have a seven run lead.
  15. Should have started Colon. Nice 6th, Bart.
  16. Again, Ripken back-handedly blaming Tejada for getting injured. Prick.

  18. I think it should be part of professional pride that every post-season starting pitcher in the NL knows how to properly execute a sac bunt.
  19. 1-2-BB-3 is the best Matt can do. I'll take it.
  20. I'd be cool with some MORE RUNS!!!
  21. I never got ragey. In fact, I'm pretty impressed with the cool I've kept. Granted, I completely ignored anything baseball related on Sunday. However, when I found out this morning that the league was suspending Utley, I got more mad than ever. I mean, now, by suspending him, MLB is essentially saying that the umps got the call wrong on Saturday night. The Mets should have gotten out of the 7th with a 2-1 lead. That doesn't mean the Dodgers couldn't have won the game later, but it completely changes the game and series. I'm not a guy that usually ever blames the officiating when a team loses, but Saturday night was umping at it's worst. I still feel bad for Ruben...mostly because he is one of the CORE who played on some pretty bad Mets teams over the past several years.
  22. El Segundo Escupidor wrote: Not nearly as bad as Doug Glanville who blamed Tejada for the whole thing (video clip in second post of this thread). So did Steve Sax. Ripken in the booth was halfway blaming Tejada.
