  1. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe Tejada will be out of options until next season which will be his 5th as a professional.
  2. Spring Stats (through 03/14/10): Russ Adams: 12 AB, 6 H, 1 R, 1 3B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, .500/.538/.917/1.455 Alex Cora: 17 AB, 6 H, 3 R, 1 RBI, .353/.389/.412/.801 Ruben Tejada: 28 AB, 10 H, 6 R, 1 2B, 4 RBI, .357/.419/.393/.812
  3. I've gathered from Ceetar's posts that he is not a big Jerry Manuel fan.
  4. If there is clamoring to add either Hernandez to this poll I will. Personally, I don't see why anyone would choose an* Hernandez over any of the 3 choices above. *completely fruity NTTAWWT
  5. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: If he's good enough to help the ballclub, let him help. I think this is what Jerry has said and I tend to agree with it's simplicity. Ashie62 wrote: I'd like to see him as a starting pitcher for the Mets in 2011 This is my ultimate hope for him as well. I'm hoping whatever they do, they cap his innings so that he is not throwing any more than his progression from last season would allow. It seems to me that spliting his 2010 time between being an MLB reliever and a AAA starter may be best.
  6. Edgy, you don't lack guts, maybe you're just a little nauseous?
  7. Jose Reyes is going to be sidelined for what looks to be at least the month of April. There are 3 shortstops vying for his starting job this spring: 2009 Stats: Russ Adams (AAA): 207 AB, 59 H, 31 R, 14 2B, 3 3B, 2 HR, 21 RBI, .285/.343/.411/.754 Russ Adams (MLB): 20 AB, 4 H, 2 R, .200/.238/.200/.438 Alex Cora (MLB): 271 AB, 68 H, 31 R, 11 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 18 RBI, .251/.320/.310/.630 Ruben Tejada (AA): 488 AB, 141 H, 59 R, 24 2B, 3 3B, 5 HR, 46 RBI, .289/.351/.381/.732 Spring Stats (through 03/11/10): Russ Adams: 10 AB, 6 H, 1 R, 1 3B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, .600/.636/1.100/1.736 Alex Cora: 13 AB, 5 H, 2 R, 1 RBI, .385/.385/.385/.770 Ruben Tejada: 22 AB, 8 H, 5 R, 1 2B, 3 RBI, .364/.440/.409/.849 This can be a "floating" poll, meaning you should change your vote if your opinion changes. I will keep the spring stats updated on business days throughout the spring. Defense needs to be included as well. Anyone who knows more about defensive stats can argue their merit and provide what they know about each players ability.
  8. Vance Wilson?
  9. On the coldest of burners... The Rockies extend Todd Helton through 2013. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-rockies-helton&prov=ap&type=lgns
  10. I have to think Figueroa has moved ahead in this race for now. Niese's options may doom him.
  11. Can't wait for Fman to weigh in on this one.
  12. Mets 2010 Spring HR Leaders: Carter: 3 Davis: 2 FMart: 2 Wright:2 R Adams: 1 R Barajas: 1 M Jacobs: 1 G Matthews: 1 Santos: 1 That's 43% of the HRs coming from guys competing for a 1B job (and none from Murphy).
  13. Roughly 1/3 of the way through the spring schedule and the Mets have hit 14 HR in 10 games. That puts them on pace for 48 HRs this spring. They hit 95 in all of the 2009 regular season. The offense has been scoring 7.7 runs per game...typically early and late. The pitching staff has been giving roughly 5 of those runs back per game.
  14. True, nice to have potentially fruitful options than the lesser-of-evil options.
  15. The Red Sox are my early pick to win the AL. Their lineup looks fierce even at half strength. Do you know how good you have to be to have 2 catchers?!?
  16. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/mets/2010/03/braves-9-mets-6-murph-likes-ik.html Adam Rubin wrote: - Reliever Carlos Muniz was dispatched to minor-league camp
  17. If he doesn't hit, we must acquit?
  18. Will Niese make the team? Storylines abound! I think the 5th starter race as well as the last bench spot (i.e. the 3rd 1st baseman) races are wide open.
  19. Never let it be said that Mets fans don't have heart.
  20. Without reading the thread and just voting in the poll, I went thirty as well. My heart says "zero".
