  1. I remember collecting this card 23 years ago.

  3. I just can't trust a guy named Elmer.
  4. 2nd place 88-74 Wild card Lose in NLCS
  5. They haven't updated for 2010 yet, but here is a sample using Henry Blanco. On the site, if you hover over the number, it gives the team and years the uni number was used. Nice feature.
  6. Forgive me if this was mentioned elsewhere and I missed it, but when did Baseball Reference start tracking uni numbers on player pages?
  7. I see him as comparable to every other starter or starting candidate we have not named Johan.
  8. He prolly has to listen to hear sing everyday, though...so that champagne is flat.
  9. That's not Death Cab For Cutie?

There are a couple of viable long men in the bullpen other than Misch. Nymr83 wrote: On edit: If Reyes isn't ready by opening day, then Tejada should ride some pine...but I bet Jose will be ready I strongly disagree with this. If Tejada (or Fernando Martinez, or Ike Davis) isn't going to play every day (or at least start 5 times a week) I don't want them on the roster, I'd rather have them playing every day in Buffalo. "riding the pine" isn't where i want my top prospects. I guess you'd prefer Jacobs?

  12. This is how I see the roster going north right now: SP1: Johan Santana (L) SP2: Mike Pelfrey ® SP3: Oliver Perez (L) SP4: John Maine ® SP5: Nelson Figueroa ® CL: Francisco Rodriguez ® RP: Pedro Feliciano (L) RP: Hisanori Takahashi (L) RP: Kiko Calero ® RP: Pat Misch ® RP: Fernando Nieve ® RP: Bobby Parnell ® CF: Angel Pagan (S) 2B: Luis Castillo (S) SS: Jose Reyes (S) 3B: David Wright ® LF: Jason Bay ® 1B: Daniel Murphy (L) RF: Jeff Francoeur® C: Rod Barajas ® C: Henry Blanco ® INF: Alex Cora (L) OF: Gary Matthews Jr. (S) UTL: Fernando Tatis ® UTL: Chris Carter (L) I'd let Parnell, Nieve, Misch and Takahashi know that they are in the bullpen auditioning for a starting job should any of Figueroa, Maine, Perez or Pelfrey falter. I really don't mind our lineup, bench and bullpen...but that rotation is going to do us in. Didn't we say that in December? On edit: If Reyes isn't ready by opening day, then Tejada should ride some pine...but I bet Jose will be ready.
  13. Spring Stats (through 03/21/10): Russ Adams: 17 AB, 8 H, 2 R, 1 3B, 1 HR, 3 RBI, .471/.526/.765/1.291 Alex Cora: 26 AB, 8 H, 4 R, 2 2B, 1 RBI, .308/.333/.385/.718 Ruben Tejada: 38 AB, 14 H, 7 R, 3 2B, 5 RBI, .368/.429/.447/.876
  14. I'll take the 2 Milwaukee series if we're calling teams.
  15. It's really just me mouthing off. I don't have anything against Stewart, I just don't think she is anything to write home about as an actress. In my mind's eye, the Runaways movie I would want to see would be cast with a group of unknown teenage actresses who are preferably punk-rawkish and hopefully, genuinely love the Runaways. I think casting two under-20 "it" girls and billing their names above the movie title on the poster goes against anything that the Runaways ever were about. But, from what I hear, Joan Jett herself was invovled with production, so who am I to say anything.
  16. I get it...I get it. I'm sure she'll be the Joan Jettiest Joan Jett ever.
  17. I think FMart should start at AAA. But once Beltran gets back, GMJ, Pagan and even Francoeur should be put on alert that they could lose time or jobs to FMart.
  18. I guess I don't share the same affinity for her part in Adventureland that others on this board have. I thought she made a pretty bad movie worse. I don't think she particularly looks like Joan Jett and she was born a decade after the Runaways were even around. I am of the opinion that the only reason she (and Dakota Fanning) are in this movie is to sell it to teens. Which is fine...it's the Hollywood way. But I'm not expecting any notable performances from the cast. I'm sure the costumes, makeup and, of course, the music will be great.
  19. Takahashi!!!
  20. My original comment stands.
  21. I don't see anything wrong with this.
  22. I appreciate the subject of the film...but Kristen Stewart? Ugh. We'll see, but I'll probably wait until the DVD comes out in August.
  23. I don't see Tejada or Jacobs in any of the most recent categories. Am I just missing them?
