    No Carlos? No problem!

My two favorite regular season games in 2006 were both Carlos walk-off home runs. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYN/NYN200605230.shtml http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYN/NYN200608220.shtml That was one of the best single offensive seasons I've seen in my Met watching history. He was under-appreciated while he was here and should go down as one of the all-time greats to wear the orange and blue.

I'd rather Carlos had gone to Pittsburgh. I can't bring myself to root for any team that has Brian Wilson on it.

Yeah, I'd rather have Brown...but this Wheeler kid is supposed to be decent. Either way, it's more than I thought we would get for Beltran at the start of the season.

I like Gary Brown. If there's more, I am very pleased.

Pelf's due for a great outing. I'm hoping today is the day.

What a teeny-tiny, little ballpark they have.

    Woot! indeed.

Hey now...that's not really what I meant. I say Trachsel was an important part of the 2006 Mets. He wasn't going to be the best pitcher out there, but you knew that he was going to take the ball every fifth day and keep a very good offense in the game. FWIW, Trachsel's stats in his 6 year Mets career are better than Pelfrey's in his 6 years.

I would not go as far as saying he is a lost cause. But, I think I've stopped thinking that he will eventually be something that he's clearly not. I don't think he'll ever be able to be consistently relied upon as a top of the rotation stater. He's a poor man's Steve Trachsel.

I think it depends a little on who's playing SS. There's a possibility you can throw Tejada in the mix as well. Murphy gives us the best offense at second (especially against righties), but I think we will still see several players get the chance to play 2B in 2012.

quoting Terry Collins, Mike Puma wrote: "We've got guys that are playing for their jobs, too. The minute they give up and quit, they won't be here next year. I want the guys to play 162 [games] and play hard." I love this quote. Nice one, Terry! I'm getting a little sick of Pelf. It's bad enough that he has been the shittiest starter we have this year. He doesn't need to be the whiniest as well.
