  2. Great job, Pedro. Free baseball tonight, kids.
  3. Jeez, Church was so out. Get dirty, man.
  4. Ramon Martinez throws like a girl or David Eckstein.
  5. Yeah, what the hell were doing with my jock anyway? This is a boozy IGT in the early going. C'mon, Redding.
  6. Gotta get Kemp here. 2-nil's doable. Glad I picked up some Dale's earlier, just in case it's one of them nights...
  7. Great KTE. Jonathan Broxton has a real ivy league sounding name, but he's deep-fried southerner through and through. It was weird the first time I heard him talk.
  8. ="Edgy DC":2592l7gl] The insignia, to me, should always be orange. I guess they put it in blue for contrast here, but orange has shown up OK on a white background on the Giants' uniforms, hasn't it?[/quote:2592l7gl] Yah, and I can make out the orange number just fine on the white one. I voted "A", but think they're both ungood. themetfairy May 18 2009 10:04 AM ="TransMonk":2x8ww5z8]="Benjamin Grimm":2x8ww5z8] I voted for A, because it's less horrendous than B.[/quote:2x8ww5z8] Yup.[/quote:2x8ww5z8] Yup Yup LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr May 18 2009 10:43 AM ="Fman99":3ngqvyqp]The actual Mets poll had a choice that said "I don't like either of these," or words to that effect. That was the one I picked in this case.[/quote:3ngqvyqp] Ditto. Both of these would go nicely with Cross-Colour jeans and an 8-ball bubble coat in my mom's basement. John Cougar Lunchbucket May 18 2009 11:22 AM ="holychicken":2gdz4o8a]I look at one and decide to choose the other one. . .and then I look at the other and decide to choose the first. This is a tough one. I just flipped a coin.[/quote:2gdz4o8a] Same. I don't love them but don't think they suck that hard. I mean, they're gonna do an alternate, these are much better than the armpit ones. Which of these I can't choose. I have some good associations with the solid-blue BPs of the 80s so I like B; but the orange # -- sans shadow and heavy outlines -- are nice in style A. soupcan May 18 2009 12:43 PM ="TransMonk":3c5wns3r]="Benjamin Grimm":3c5wns3r] I voted for A, because it's less horrendous than B.[/quote:3c5wns3r] Yup.[/quote:3c5wns3r] Me too. Ashie62 May 18 2009 02:28 PM I saw these at Abercrombie & Fitch marked down
  9. ="Fman99":2q20ten5]I also am a fan of the trim.[/quote:2q20ten5] The kid is good I tell ya. If I had to look at one of 'em, I take "B", but I hate them each equally. TransMonk May 18 2009 09:53 AM I figured it was only a matter of time before that comment. themetfairy May 18 2009 10:03 AM A, but it's a slight preference. soupcan May 18 2009 12:44 PM I abstain, they both suck hard. Farmer Ted May 18 2009 03:19 PM Black should be reserved for the Pirates and Sabbath.
  10. You've got problems when Mitch Williams is the voice of reason.
  11. What the fuck?
  12. Rob Dibble hates scouting reports. They're confusing and stuff for pitchers.
  13. bmfc1 wrote: Can they send Ollie to Buffalo? With a day off this week, they could skip his turn, call up Figueroa, and give him the start a week from Tuesday. Yah. In the "Shake it up, baby" thread, the Rubin article sez both Ollie and Pelf have options, though Omar's said nothing is likely to come from that shake-up talk. That was said before today's 8-car pileup in Queens, though.
  14. I still love Ollie, though one day years from now, I may be reflecting on my drinking problem and trace it squarely back to so intently watching his starts. Mets look like poo-poo today.
  15. I have very little perspective right now.
  16. DocTee wrote: Listen to the feed that OO gave us yesterday-- Here's that link again. http://cranesville.com/wcss1490/wmp.asx It's more than a few ticks behind, but their business is cement anyway, right?
  17. Dibble & the regular guy are hard to listen to. Bitching about the check swings to Reyes and Delgado called balls. The angle the ump has down the 3rd base line is obviously gonna be different than the angle the camera in the 3rd base dugout has; the angle that these guys are using to say Gerry Davis blew both of those calls. Delgado triples in a run (after he shoulda out on the blown strike call, mind you) and the Mets are up 1-nil.
  18. Christ, I gotta listen to Rob Dibble for three and a half hours today? Ugh. Mets Reyes SS Murphy LF Beltran CF Delgado 1B Wright 3B Church RF Santos C Castillo 2B Ollie P =red]Nats Maxwell CF Belliard 2B R. Zimmerman 3B Dunn 1B Willingham LF Kearns RF Flores C Gonzales SS J. Zimmerman P
  19. Great article. Didn't know any of that about him. Those are the kinda dudes I love rooting for. Go, Zack.
