  2. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=165532 time=1723074237 user_id=68] No. I like the lineups. Really. I do. And I never said I didn't like the lineup postings.
  3. Just a matter or time, ya have to stick it to me. Even if subtly. "Sad, sad really." How did I stick it to you? Lets make this a Mets themed post. So I'll borrow a line from Bret Saberhagen: When I decide to stick it to you, (which I didn't think I did) you'll know it for sure. Looks like you're starting with me.
  4. Someone that's starting an IGT when the roosters are out there cock-a-doodle-dooing it obviously can't post the lineups then. It's too damn early. That's what you get when you start an IGT so goddamn early. But the game start time and a local channel?
  5. No. I like the lineups. Really. I do. And I never said I didn't like the lineup postings. But I also like the game start time and a local channel.
  6. You can also get the lineups from about a zillion different places but that doesn't stop one or two people from making a big Broadway production over the lineup every game.
  7. I think I'll just click through all of the thousand channels or so that I have to figure out what channel the game is on. And if that doesn't work, I'll do the same for the 8:30PM time slot. And if that doesn't work, then I'll do the same for the 9:00PM time slot. Eventually, I'll figure out when and where the game is on. I guess I could skip TCM and the batshit crazy religious channels because I know the game won't be on any of those channels. That oughtta save me about four seconds worth of clicking.
  8. Got to get up at the crack of dawn to start an IGT if you wanna start an IGT.
  9. The Sox are supposedly so awful that I'm wishing that their live games were on the MLB network so I could see it for myself.
  10. =Cowtipper post_id=165363 time=1722901516 user_id=166] Back to me thinking they might actually be a playoff-quality club.
  11. Bring me the head of the Mets' floor-setter.
  12. Edgy MD wrote: I blame the outage for the Mets loss, as my rooting vibes were unable to travel through the Interwebs. Nah. Don't blame yourself. Blame the Mets floor-setter instead. Yesterday's game was probably one of the games from this road trip that the Mets didn't bother to set their floor to win.
  13. Johnson was definitely the toughest answer, I thought. But you got what I thought were the next two toughest answers: Kazmir and Youmans. Johnson was also the first former Met to strike out 200 batters in a season for another team.
  14. Pretty good trade sequence for the Royals. They got Johnson, a 200K pitcher and perennial all-star Amos Otis for only the already washed up Joe Foy. Then they flipped Johnson for another all-star and a foundational piece of their (also ex-Met) Whitey Herzog pennant contending teams, shortstop Freddie Patek. Patek and especially Otis would receive MVP votes, too, as Royals.
  15. The last, or stumping pitcher, is 1969 Met and owner of a Mets World Series ring, Bob Johnson. He struck out 206 batters in 1970, his only season as a member of the KC Royals. The year after, Bob earned his second World Series ring in three years as a member of the 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates. Thank you for playing.

  18. I'll post the remaining answer at the start of tonight's Mets game if nobody's gotten it by then.
