  3. 7:40PM start -- because if it's one thing I can'ts stands is IGT thread starters that don't include the start time of the game.
  4. IGT 4/22/21 - I can't believe nobody started this thread yet.
  5. =Ceetar post_id=61515 time=1618950248 user_id=102] I think many newer tvs have 'zoom' buttons that stetch/fit/adjust the image. This isn't really a tv issue so much as it's a production/streaming/producing one.
  6. Preferable to Mo Vaughn.

Throws a FB that bores into hitters when up in the zone, sinks when down in the zone. Throws a power CB w/ some slider-like action. Also has a change-up. Clement wound up going 3rd overall to the Mariners and was a major disappointment: 385 ML ABs over pieces of four seasons for the M's and Pirates Mets take Pelfrey at #8 while Bruce goes four slots later to Cincy and winds up as the hindsight best pick among those three Highlights of that 1st round: #1 J. Upton, #2 Alex Gordon, #4 Ryan Zimmerman, #5 Ryan Braun, #7 Troy Tulowitski, #11 Andrew McCutcheon, #23 Jacoby Ellsbury Picks #6, 17, 20, and 29 that year never play in a big league game I've written several times here over the years about how I hardly ever follow MLB drafts closely. I usually know very little, if not nothing, about the prospective draftees - and the futures of baseball prospects, I think, are harder to predict compared to the future careers of amateurs from other sports. I'll make an exception if the Mets have a real chance at drafting some generational prospect, which hasn't happened in decades. But this 2005 draft, I followed closely. Pelfrey was widely considered to be the best pitcher in that draft with a heavy fastball that would occasionally hit 100 on the gun, a BFD back in 2005. (Pelfrey's fast ball lost some by the time he got to the majors). And even though the Mets picked eighth that year, the Mets had a chance at getting Pelfrey (which they did, as youse all know) because Pelfrey's agent was Scott Boras and that was supposed to turn off most, if not all of the teams picking ahead of the Mets.
  9. I have two TV's. One is a modern flat-screen HDTV with all of the typical bells and whistles that you would reasonably expect from a contemporary TV. The other TV is almost 20 years old, with a relatively square (4:3 ratio) screen. On the newer TV, the edges of the image are cut off. I don't see the left half of the scorebug and most graphics are cut off on both sides. This is especially common when I'm watching live sports or news. I have no idea how to fix it, assuming it even can be fixed. On a side note, I love my older TV. The modern TV distorts the image of most programs. I'm not a fan of the better quality higher resolution images on these neweer TV's because movies now have a video feel to them and that grainy film look is gone. I'm not sure that older movies are meant to be viewed the way they're displayed on these modern smart HDTV's. On the newer TV, the only time I'm sure I'm watching a movie image that isn't distorted is when I'm watching a DVD. I love my older TV and will miss it when it eventually breaks down.

  11. I didn't know there was baseball in the year 202. Or TV. Or computers and internet.
  12. Au revoir former Met Jay Bruce, who apparently couldn't stand having gotten himself involved with a band of pinstriped miscreants. https://twitter.com/ken_rosenthal/status/1383790114984271873?s=21https://twitter.com/ken_rosenthal/status/1383790114984271873?s=21 Nice haul. Made $102M from baseball according to bRef.
  13. Ex-Met Steven Matz twirls another gem to improve to 3-0 By Associated Press April 17, 2021 | 10:05pm Excerpt: KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Steven Matz held the Kansas City Royals without a hit into the sixth inning, and Jonathan Davis and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homered to give the Toronto Blue Jays a 5-1 victory in the seven-inning opener of their doubleheader Saturday. Matz (3-0) only allowed a pair of walks before Nicky Lopez's blooper to left with one out in the sixth. Matz gave up Andrew Benintendi's two-out double later in the inning for the only other blemish on an otherwise dominant performance. 15. deGrom is on pace to strike out 436 batters in 2021.
  16. =Fman99 post_id=61280 time=1618701753 user_id=86] I'll feel better if they can give Diaz a bigger lead. Like 80 runs.
  17. Lindor finally does something Lindory.
  18. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=61251 time=1618699696 user_id=68] I don't wanna be a Debby Downer but I have a hunch that I know how this game's gonna end: the same way most deGrom starts have ended since 2018.
