  1. Here's Ted Lilly's pitching line so far in Toronto -- his team's losing 2-0: 5.0 ip; 99 pitches; 7 hits; 2 runs; 5 walks; 5 Ks
  2. SNY won't have to do much editing to put together the "fast forward" version of this game!
  3. I've never seen a game like this outside of the last game of the season between two teams who don't care. 10 ip -- 2 hits -- 102 pitches between the two starters. We need a solo home run from somebody
  4. Eerie line scores -- both starters 42 pitches through 4 innings. Hudson zero hits, Glavine 1. Talk about being SHARP!! Don't blink or you miss a whole inning.
  5. Memo to Victor Zambrano -- Are you watching this game?? Do you see how two good pitchers get hitters out while throwing a miniumum number of pitches? See how getting the batters to hit your pitch results in your defense making outs??? School's in session -- PAY ATTENTION!!
  6. I think the sun must be in the hitters' eyes
  7. 10 pitches for Hudson. Both teams seem to be late for their post-game flights! This thing could be over by 2:15
  8. WFAN's live streaming radio is also blacked out during the game -- I'm getting a re-run of this morning's Imus show! Glavine cruises through the first on 6 pitches!
  9. It is a big game. Despite our injuries, if we lose a series at home to THIS group of Braves, when we had Pedro and Glavine pitching two of the three, that would be a BAD thing.
  10. Really, rolling on the floor here. How can I get any work done with brilliant stuff like this going on?? Here's the connection -- in the DR, they celebrate Mexican Night -- just like Pedro's Compadres: Man dies after winning tequila-drinking contest AZCentral.com reports (8 March 2005) from the Dominican Republic that the 21-year-old winner of a competition to drink the most tequila died and three other contestants were gravely ill in the hospital. Ricardo Ivan Garcia drank more than 50 shots of tequila at Santo Domingo's Blanc, Dance and Lounge discotheque to win the prize of $330 at a Mexican night celebration. But he took ill, was hospitalized and died within hours, apparently from heart failure brought on, you guessed it, by alcohol poisoning.
  11. Do we need a template into which we should put our points votes -- to facilitate the automated tabulation process??? Sorry if I've messed you up. What's the official format -- last name -- dash -- points? Tab? Space? As for how to distribute -- perhaps a review would be good for folks like me. 6 is the max, right? after that, anything goes. Key hits. Key defensive plays. all around good pay may merit points. What's the smallest incriment allowed? Do you prefer decimals or fractions? Inquiring minds want to know.
  12. Very nice summary, TM I would rate the Brewer pen slightly better -- they have a few young arms in the middle innings who could be pretty good. Pummel the starters -- that's the ticket!
  13. Points are hard Zambrano - 1 (winning starter has to merit at least one) Delgado - 1.5 Beltran -- 1.5 Floyd -- 1.5 Oliver - 1 Reyes - 1 Woodward - 1 Wright -- 1.5
  14. Oliver trying to rack up some Schaeffer points!!
  15. Oliver strikes out the side! Wow. I guess that's why he made the team.
  16. Bret Sabermetric wrote: You couldn't have pulled a needle out of Beltran's asshole with an SUV, he was so angry and uptight last week. Was last week part of this season, or last season? I forget. Now THAT's a mental image!
  17. These are nice words -- Zambrano induces double play. I was worried he'd let them right back into the game. Gotta step on them when they're down. Make them start thinking ahead to having the night off tonight before their next series ( . . . Hmm . . where to eat dinner . . . wonder if that babe is free . . .) Zambrano needs 5 good innings.
  18. Pedro - 5 Heilman - 1 Wagner - 1 Floyd - 1 Beltran - 1 Delgado - 1
  19. Strike one, strike two, strike three. Game over. That's more like it!
  20. One more baserunner and it will be a save situation -- just not for Wagner
  21. Guess Wags needs to get some work in, eh?
  22. gotta be kidding me?? Walking Delgado to get to Mr. Wright??? Be offended, David
  23. Triple city! Wheels are something you can't teach. Oh, yea -- the Mets tried to teach him how to run better. Messed him up for a year. Like I said . . . can't teach
  24. Productive outs. That's the ticket!
