  1. Juan Soto and Josh Bell to the Padres appears to be done.
  2. I missed this yesterday, but Zebulon has signed a minor league deal for a $20k bonus. He's doing the team a solid by signing for a lot less than the $152k slot value of the pick. You don't have a whole lot of negotiating leverage as a 5th-year senior.
  3. =ashie62 post_id=100923 time=1658758619 user_id=90]Bartolo Colon.
  4. Oh, your question said 42, so I took it literally instead of realizing you meant 32. That's on me.
  5. Huskey is the easy one. I'm pretty sure, anyway
  6. Welcome to 2022 10th round pick Zebulon Vermillion, a right handed reliever out of the University of Arkansas. He arrives presumably in his final form at 6'5" / 240 lb. His super cool name immediately got my attention, but it turns out he's just named after Zebulon Pike, some old guy who got a mountain named after him. Skip to 11:00 in this podcast episode for the background story -- https://thehogpod.libsyn.com/153-zebulon-vermillion-whats-in-a-name Anyway, he spent 5 seasons in college due to the extra covid year and he's 23 already, so maybe he starts off right away in Brooklyn and we see how that goes. I'm looking forward to hearing his name called out over the Citi Field PA someday. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=vermil000zeb
  7. Heh. That thought crossed my mind, sure.
  8. I'd like to extend a warm welcome to 10th round selection Zebulon Vermillion.
  9. If the broadcast team mentioned this I missed it, but this would have to be the largest differential in opposing starting pitcher uniform numbers ever. File that away for future trivia contests.
  10. I don't know much about the Cubs other than that Stroman has been not great. I don't remember if this was before the start of the season, or at some point in April, but woman in a Cubs shirt saw my Mets hat as we crossed paths in the supermarket parking lot and told me "thanks for Stroman!" Instant karma's gonna get ya. It's why I never thank anyone for anything.
  11. That was like bizarro-world Game 6
  12. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: That MLB chatroom gag had him pinned. Another forgotten gem of baseball web 1.0. The one that always clowned on Dmitri Young and Jim Thome? Yeah, I miss that.
  13. Hell yeah. That's what we like to see.
  14. This team is so fun to watch Talking about the Phillies of course
  15. I've never liked that Pederson fella. I turned the game off after his 2nd homer. Pretty encouraging that this team has the ability to fight their way back into games. All the best Mets seasons I can remember have always had that feel.
  16. OK, now THAT was the best win of the year. So far.
  17. Man, what a breath of fresh air this new administration is. I almost wish there was an easy way to make him the most expensive assistant batting / bench coach in history.
  18. Best win of the year so far. Can't wait to see how they piss away game 2!
  19. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: the kinda guy who wants Mets and yanks to do well. https://c.tenor.com/gwzdM0Fi1CUAAAAd/frank-costanza-this-guy.gif>
  20. Syracuse basketball ends, Mets baseball begins. Same as it ever was.
  21. Thanks, I never remember how to embed those things.
