  1. My grandson's bib is bigger than that chest protector. I guess he doesn't like to wear anything that might impede his throwing.Later
  2. Mole, my Jays fan freinds called him Bennie. And he has a daughter who (unfortunately ) looks like him, who they call Bennybeth.Later
  3. Anudder thought: If Benny makes the 40 man roster it will have a major impact on Mets lore.No longer will we be able to say that Danny Napoleon is the ugliest player in Mets history.Later
  4. It was announced on the post game radio show that the Mets have signed "40 year old catcher Bennie Santiago to a minor league contract".40?Who are they kidding? He was my boyhood idol.Later
  5. Beltran 3Benson 3Castro 3Piazza 1Later
  6. Mets down 3-1. Bletran , Floyd, Piazza due up.What are the odds of a 1-2-3 inning?Later
  7. Johnny Dickshot wrote:Dated a woman, eh?What makes you feel that's strange?Later
  8. Yancy Street Gang wrote:I voted Floyd. But I hope it's Beltran. (Interesting that he wasn't even a choice in the poll.) It would be good for him, and the Mets, if he had an insane hot streak like he did last October.I didn't list Beltran because I was kinda hoping that someone will get hot before his injury heals. It seems to be taking a long time for that to happen.Later
  9. as in get hot, carry the team on his back and lead them to a decent winning streak?Later
  10. I saw him pitch.Nice easy motion, then the ball just exploded. Same overhand motion for both the fastball and the curve. He didn't need no steenking third pitch.Later, I read thet he was tipping his pitches throughout his career, and the batters still couldn't hit him. That says a lot abut his stuff.Later
  11. Hope he puts on a few pounds before he visits the Big Apple. He might slip right through a subway grating.Later
  12. Thanks, JD.Kinda' thought Edgy would adopt him.But give him a good home.Later
  13. Hey. I'm Larry Bearnarth.I pitched against him in College.Later
  14. Oh.You have one, too?Sounds like there's a story there.Later
  15. ]Warning: They don't work.what doesn't work? You fill it with water and put it in the freezer. The freezer does all the work. Is this a training issue?Later
  16. Why do you say that? Was Daubach a replacement player? EDIT: Or does he have the reputation for playing loud music in the clubhouse?Later
  17. Well, I have to admit that's not quite as bad as telling him that you saw his name and picture on the Post Office wall.Or is it?Later
  18. I had him on the old board, so I'll keep him here. He's a 19 year old putting up a .252/.296/.362 line in the SAL, but he supposedly oozes nice tools. 30 SB already, too. When I adpoted him, someone commented that this was a breakthrough bacause nobody had adopted a Latino prospect yet. Not sure if that was true, but I'm an equal opportunity adopter.Later
  19. This is just one of many posts I've read recently about Daubach's defense. Yet I seem to racall reading something a few months ago thatsaid his range factor and FPCT were comparable to Scrabble's.Anyone have any stats?Later

That's why if I have anything long to type for posting, I first compose it in Word, then cut and paste it into the page.Later
  21. This is also the day the Mets acquired Keith Hernandez. Both he and Clendenon were to lead the team to World Championships. Imagine, first basemen who could hit. What a concept. I wonder if Omar can see this and the light bulb will go on.Later
  22. Ah!So last year during the AL Pennant Chase, when I saw that Boston was being included, it must have been one of those "expansion" times.Got it.Its much more fun to root for a Braves loss than a Red Sox win anyhow. Thanks,Later
  23. Cooby, happy pre-birthday.WP- is this a new category? I thought the old Triple Happiness was Mets and Red Sox win and Yankees lose.Since when did the Braves creep into the picture? Not that it doesn't make sense, but I'm curious if this is an official change.Later
  24. That last one is going to make it very difficult for folks to vote today. ThanksLater
