  1. =kcmets post_id=104859 time=1661111123 user_id=53] More than two hours to get through four. Bohm has 6 RBI.
  2. He reminds me of the "Where do they find these guys?" thread. He is the 15th rated prospect in the organization. The fact that the organization thought he was ready after pitching to a 4.00 ERA in AA and 6.00 in AAA tells me that maybe, just maybe, he wasn't. (Talking about Butto) Later
  3. Rehabbing Joey Lucchesi is starting a game game for St. Lucie today. Later
  4. Nice story. But I remember when most major leaguers had off season jobs to augment their salary. His off season was just a little longer. I don't care if Fisher was a banker or was in a pool hall making bank shots, as long as he gets batters out. I wish him well. Later
  5. Albert Pujols moved into second place in career total bases, behind only Hank Aaron. Later
  6. The kid started again tonight. He pitched 2 1/3, gave up one hit (his string of two or fewer its in every start is still alive), one un-earned run, walked three and struck out two. No decision. Later
  7. No "feet of Clay" or "Clay pigeon" jokes today. He did his job. Later
  8. 8th and 9th batters-HBP and walk. I've always wanted to have a Mets lineup that is so scary that the other team doesn't want to pitch to them. Later
  9. I hope that failure to bring home tack-on runs doesn't bite them in the butt. Later
  10. Good news - Naquin finally hits the ball Bad news - he makes an out. Later
  11. Edgy MD wrote: I remember Kingman's five-strikeout game and Ryan Thompson's. I think Newsday had a back page that read, "K-K-K-K-KINGMAN!" I wrote a parody of the song "Landslide" about Thompson, with the key words being: "And the curve ball brought him down". Later
  12. =DocTee post_id=104678 time=1661008838 user_id=85] Damn. 0/5 with 5 K's and they run Naquin right back out there the next day.
  13. Edgy MD wrote: Joely now has his ERA down in the fours. I would have bet the over. Who pitches the ninth? Is it time to see what Givens can do in a low pressure situation? Later
  14. Edgy, you're showing Daniel Johnson on the 40 man roster, but baseball reference shows this for him: July 22, 2022: Released by the New York Mets. August 4, 2022: Signed as a Free Agent with the Washington Nationals. Later
  15. Reminds me of 33 - the movie about the 33 miners trapped in a mine in Chile that came out a few years ago. That one interested me because it was co-produced by Chile-born actress Cote de Pablo. Later
  16. Edgy MD wrote: I imagine it is possible. But systemic regime of drugging and evading testing, one that requires teenagers to keep silent, seems tricky to pull off. Ooh, maybe they don't even know they're being dosed! Player: '"Why doesn't my baseball cap fit any more?" Minor league coach: "You're just growing, kid". Later
  17. I've always felt their player development program (scouting, drafting, coaching) is excellent in terms of both quality and quantity. When they have an immediate need, it seems they can just dip into the minors to fill that need instead of having to resort to signing 30+ year old free agents or AAAA players. (Maybe just my impression) I've also have been more than a bit [CROSSOUT]pissed[/CROSSOUT] envious that some Mets prospects haven't been developed as well (as the Braves) from when they were signed and moved up through the organization. Later DISCLAIMER: No animals were injured in creation of this post. It only represents my opinion and may be factually wrong. But if someone wants to track every Mets draft pick vs every Braves draft pick back to 1962, be my guest.
  18. If you don't want to lose your last meal by listening to Jon Sterling's call of Donaldson's homer, here's the text. "That was Josh, By Gosh. And he did it with panache." Later
  19. Books. Everybody can now exhale. Later
  20. Get Ruf up in the bullpen. Later
  21. I'm starting to re-think that pitching change. Later
  22. WELCOME TO THE BIGS, KID! Later
  23. Thanks, fixed. Later
  24. Welcome to the big leagues, kid. Make those Braves fans forget Chipper. Later
  25. Pete Alonso has announced that he will be playing for Team USA in the next tournament. Later
