  1. He has been promoted to AA Binghamton. His third level this year. He already has 100 BB (combined) for the season. Williams has three hits in his first nine at-bats in Double-A, and is slashing .267/.431/.461 with 13 homers, 22 doubles, eight triples, and 44 steals in 117 games across three levels this season. 2. Edgy MD wrote: The game is on now, Ash. Ketel Marte strikes out to lead off. Is that anything like a Ketel Mimosa or Ketel Bloody Mary? Later
  3. Of course that stuff was said when we traded Jared Kelenic who was also a very highly regarded prospect. At last look, Kelenic has played in parts of three ML seasons for Seattle and has a slash line of 201/288/378 with 32 HR and 109 RBI in 826 AB. Let's see how good Crow-Armstrong really is before we bemoan this trade. (But I think you're going to be right) Later
  4. If I look at my watch during the movie, it may be too long. But I never did that during this one. An overlong movie can kill the enjoyment, but I never felt that way in this one. But "too long" is different for everybody. No need to duck. It's your opinion. Later
  5. He's back from the IL (a year since he last started) He started for St Lucie tonight, pitched one inning and struck out the side (with no walks). Welcome back, kid. Late
  6. =Fman99 post_id=137007 time=1694216513 user_id=86] =Fman99 post_id=137005 time=1694212815 user_id=86] Flying solo at tonight's game and watching very promising Mike Vasil on the bump.
  7. =kcmets post_id=137042 time=1694265318 user_id=53] People dancing, people laughing A man selling ice cream Singing Italian songs
  8. How many times has Lindor hit cleanup this year? Later
  9. =kcmets post_id=136992 time=1694198878 user_id=53] Yeah, I thought 16 sounded a little lofty but didn't fact check.
  10. In case anyone else besides me is interested, the NL leads AL 332-303 in Interleague Play this year, with only an 18 run deferential. (2890 runs to 2872) Let's show a team leading an AL division by 16 games how tough the NL really is. LGM! Later
  11. My 12 year old grandson saw it with his mom, and I haven't asked her yet how he took to the sex scenes. But she had said he liked the movie for the science, and I can see how he would. I saw it in a regular theater, no I MAX. And I think the sound was perfect. And the way it was used makes me think it should be up for an Oscar in sound editing. The script was tight, telling the complete story the author felt had to be told. I'm the five bomb rater. Later
  12. Frayed Knot wrote: 8 hits, 4 BBs, plus a runner via a K/passed ball but just two runs because of 2/12 w/RiSP But, yeah, it's the bullpen's fault. The malady has infected other levels of the organization. Last night, the St Lucie Mets were 2-for-15 with runners in scoring position (and they struck out 14 times). Later
  13. I never knew about different size baseballs, either. As for Vasil, his record since being promoted to Syracuse is 3-3 5.28, 58 IP, 58 H, 10 HR, 30 BB, 59 K. Several Mets blogs are saying he may join the rotation in early 2024. He needs more time. I hope they don't rush him. Later
  14. That guy's double uGotts. Later
  15. Mendick had a homer and 5 RBI last night, including the walk-off hit. Later
  16. Why not the Lupica one? I haven't read it yet, but I played with and against the kinds of kids he describes in his novel. Later
  17. =MFS62 post_id=136807 time=1693951522 user_id=60] The four rookies in consecutive spots in the starting lineup for the Mets.
  18. Frayed Knot wrote: Well that makes hitting the brakes then the gas on about four consecutive strides a really poor idea then. Yes it does. He could really pop something with the starts and stops. Later
  19. Frayed Knot wrote: Vientos changed his mind about going, or not, for a triple about four times as he approached 2nd base. It was an easy triple even with the hesitation dance steps. Not sure why he was so undecided. He hurt his foot on Sunday and maybe he was playing it safe. Later
  20. Looking a game ahead (do we have an injury thread any more?) Carrasco to the IL with a broken finger (hurt in the weight room on Sunday) Butto will start in his place. https://metsmerizedonline.com/carlos-carrasco-placed-on-il-with-fractured-finger/https://metsmerizedonline.com/carlos-carrasco-placed-on-il-with-fractured-finger/ I don't know which hurts more. Later
  21. He is one of a few Mets rookies to have had multiple hits in each of their first two games. IIRC, Greg Goosen is on that list. Later
  22. The four rookies in consecutive spots in the starting lineup for the Mets. Has that happened yet this year? If not, when was the last time that happened for the Mets? Later
  23. Can we wash them down with Mimosas? Yahoo sports showing this will be telecast on MASN , which covers the Nats and Orioles. No NY stations listed yet. 7:05 PM Later
  24. I not only think every major league team should be playing, but I think it should be a double header (single admission, of course). How many more traditions are MLB going to ruin? Later
