  1. The Yahoo box score shows an MFY error by someone named "H. Cohen", but there is nobody with that name anywhere else in the box score. There is a blank line for the name of their third pitcher of the day. It that who made the error? Later
  2. They've finally decided to put Jeter at third, where he belongs. Oh, wait. Never mind. Later
  3. No taxation without representation. And I want Excel Sports Management representing me. Later
  4. I hadn't thought of Mark "Boom Boom" Bomback, and his appropriate nickname, for years. Later
  5. The first thing I noticed is that the bat is nowhere to be seen. If it is still in his hand, it is at a weird angle (downward), and covered up by the pitcher. If he had tossed it, where? At the pitcher? If tossed toward the dugout it was a healthy toss. Later
  6. No need to start over. It makes sense. But that's maybe because my ability to process multi-sensory input is decreasing, too. Later
  7. Try winning consistently, the fans will follow. And they will be cheering throughout the game. Later
  8. https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/430169156_10161098415530837_931431082258752294_n.jpg?stp=cp6_dst-jpg&_nc_cat=106&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=3635dc&_nc_ohc=ki1tsFzRmF0AX-l4PBH&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&oh=00_AfBVIV99gL_5XoP5fQHLNGNb7mr_oZ08Vu8fUqZsolhPCQ&oe=65E94DE4> Later
  9. And my other kid, Mike Vasil, pitched a scoreless inning. Later
  10. A Vientos homer makes it 1-0 Mets. Later
  11. Isn't Fujinami a righty? Later
  12. Benjamin Grimm wrote: My assumption was that it has something to do with the testicular region. Then why does the writer use the singular 'a"? Maybe just one really big one? Later
  13. Lost 2-1. Tylor Megill with three scoreless innings. Acuna with the lone RBI. Later
  14. Fielder Jones was a centerfielder https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/j/jonesfi01.shtmlhttps://www.baseball-reference.com/players/j/jonesfi01.shtml Later
  15. I see it as part of a plan that says that smaller lettering means there will be more room on the unis for advertising (a la NASCAR). Follow the money. Later
  16. A fan on another site wrote this today: Only nitpick is that he shows his pitches to the CF camera out of the windup. You can call every splitter. Trash cans will be banging if they don't fix that. Later
  17. Frayed Knot wrote: Remember that the early reviews for Ronnie (on a one year stint w/the Nats) were at least the length of a Pete Alonso HR from being good. Now there were extenuating circumstances: he was rushed into the job with little prep time and essentially had to get to know his pbp man (Bob Carpenter) on the fly. But, still, he came off as stiff and uninteresting both from the one or two times I heard him back then, and from other more professional opinions, and also by his own admission. But I think most of us would agree that he's grown into the job and the suits at least three networks seem to agree. (SNY, TBS, MLBN). Saw this today, posted on that international baseball site I frequent (membership only) By hours I'm sure I also watch the most baseball. There are a few booths that I will automatically go to. The Mets booth is the best in baseball, hands down. Gary, Ron, and Keith have great chemistry and talk about relevant topics around the league. The guy who posted it lives in Ohio and is not a Mets fan (as far as I know) Later
  18. Who were the last two pitchers for the Mets? The box score I saw has how they pitched but not their names. Later
  19. Two scoreless innings by Trey McLaughlin - that's my kid!! Later
  20. I've been looking at this thread title since it was posted and realized I don't remember much about the Santana era, at all*. My main memory of those Mets years was liking Carlos Delgado and not much else. Later * = other than that game
  21. I think they want to give Stewart as many corner outfield reps as necessary to determine if he can play there for an extended period of time or if he will strictly be a DH. He has started games this spring in both LF and RF. Later
  22. Spring Training is when you work on things. They showed they've got the GIDP thing down pat - three today. Later
  23. A single by Ty (Cobb) Taylor evens up the score. Later
  24. Tristan Gray with a torrid (437' to center) homer off Jorge Lopez and it's now 1-0 Fish. At least he didn't let him pull it. Later
  25. That looks like the travelling team for a split squad game. Later
