Is our Schafer girl smoking a cigarette or eating a lollypop? They didn't have slim ciggies (Virginia Slims) until many years after the Schaffer contests. Later

=bmfc1 post_id=156327 time=1716569780 user_id=73] Joey Wendle signs with the Braves making him the 3d Mets backup MI to become a Brave this year (Guillorme, Short, Wendle).
There was a report (SNY) that they will be moving Houser (shudder) to the closer role. I hope I was hallucinating when I read that. But a six man rotation with him in it is just as bad. He has to go - somewhere. Add Iglesias to bring more balance/ flexibility to the roster. After that, I'll have to think about it. Later

Alvarez just got the stitches removed this week and is still weeks away from rejoining the team. They may have to bite the bullet with Narváez until Francisco returns. What would you do? Later
Solo home runs are nice. But it would be nicer if they put up some larger numbers for a change. BTW _ I happened to hear the guy who replaced Sterling on the MFY broadcasts (Honest - it was an accident.. My wife had left WCBS on the car radio. Don't judge) He is duller than dishwater. Later
If walk rates are up all around the league it could be that umps are more conscious of how they are being scored by the league by electric strike zone equipment. So they're calling a smaller (accurate) strike zone. And I have no stats that say this is the case. If it is just the Mets pitchers, then it could be the catchers aren't as good at pitch framing. It is something to be concerned about. Later
Baty getting a "piece of the ball" there wasn't enough. I realize the only way he'll get a gold glove is with a can of spray paint*, but I think it is time to give Vientos a multi-game look at third. Let's get him into a rhythm and see what he can do against major league pitching. Later The first player who I saw using that line was Reggie Jackson
If you predicted that this far through to season, Nido would be batting exactly 50* points higher than Lindor, I salute your prognostication skills. Later * = .246 vs .196
