Mets go in order vs. Austin Goober in the 1st. Yonathan Daza sounds like a 3-time disco dancing champion

It was such an easy drama free win I didn't have anything to say about it in this thread

Not without a fight from some tho. The Rs in Colorado also held up a move to make RMH the official song of the state for the same reason.

There's a public park in Apen that's a kind of tribute to Denver with rocks engraved with his lyrics, only they leave out lines that could be interpreted as anything less than g-rated... so the "everybody's high" line is left off RMH, for example. It seems his wife is protective of that clean Muppet Show image

I don't think there's anyone who could say they don't enjoy "Rocky Mountain High" but at the same time it's almost like the song's greatness is overlooked. That's a *tremendous* song we should hear forever on Klassik Rawk radio--even if the way Denver dressed and the cheesy arrangements and the "Thank God I'm A Country Boy"s sorta wrecked his coolness for the format. I find a lot of John Denver recordings aged poorly and lose whatever edge they might have had because they were so cheesed-up in the studio. But even though that--and very evident in that nice live clip above--you can really feel his genuine inspiration in RMH. It's a giant home run

Keep an eye on Drew Smith, whom I'm gonna say is definitely a bachelor and swinging for the fences. I saw this first-pitch ceremony on Wednesday. Not in the video, Smith gave one of them supamodels a total move in front of all of us as they parted ways, and is now continuing his public flirtation online.

Maybe it did rain? The reason I remember the weather that day was because we had work softball game that evening under dark skies and intense heat and humidity but we got the game off. I was drenched ... with sweat, as I hustled from the game downtown to Big Shea

I WERRY most about the Mets but picked the Marlins-they strike me as dangerous with a few good young pitchers and hitters we don't know well enough yet--they're a mystery still and seem to delight in playing us. I feel like even if the production is a wash, the Braves will pay a karmic price for letting Freeman go. Plus every little thing broke right for them last year and a repeat seems unlikely I respect the Phillies offense, and I envy that they have Zack "We don't think he's worth the money" Wheeler, but think they probably cut too many corners defensively to win longterm. Nationals LOL

I was at that game too. It was one of those hot summer nights that was incredibly humid, but didn't rain.

=G-Fafif post_id=92881 time=1652993968 user_id=55] Thin line between great game and groan game. That dog day game will hunt.
