  1. You had me at "your own parents humping"...in LOUD VOICES!
  2. Spec-bleeping-tacular visuals. Thanks for adding!
  3. One last-place and two first-place triumphs: 100: 1993 -- Anthony Young stops losing, does the other thing 101: 1988 -- Bobby Ojeda and Kevin Elster make John Smiley walk the plank 102: 2008 -- Carlos Delgado shows up on time, Jimmy Rollins is unfashionably late Also... 100: 1962 -- Richie Ashburn shows off his legs (and Gene Woodling his wood) 101: 2004 -- Eric Valents grows less obscure 102: 1978 -- Pete Rose and Tommy Holmes take a bow, Craig Swan takes the win

  12. There's probably some killjoy advanced statistic that will douse cold water on my recollections, but I remember thinking Vizcaino was darn good between 1994 and 1996, certainly a steal for Anthony Young. Was my runner-up all-time SS to Harrelson until Ordonez (now Harrelson is my runnerup to Reyes). But even without deducting points for going to the MFYs and fucking us over in Game One 2000, I'd still take M. Franco over Viz when 15s are being thrown around. Points will always be added for fucking over MFYs.
  13. The three homers in Colorado. The answer slide in Philadelphia last September. Being smart enough to not take the Mets' doctors' word for anything. The reluctant curtain call early in 2006. The catch on Tal's Hill. His face taking on the bullpen fence there, too. Climbing the fence to take away a homer against the Cardinals on a Sunday afternoon in 2008 while a bird flew by. The mole. Seriously, what a mole. And what a player.
  14. Last home run ever at Shea Stadium. Last good one, anyway.

  16. Edgy DC wrote: Long Island Press gushes over Cammie, mistakes Thole for a strong defensive catcher. In addition to batting left-handed, Maron’s game is similar to that of current Mets catcher Josh Thole. Both are contact hitters who rarely strikeout and exhibit strong defensive skills. Thole exhibits them. They're just not on permanent display.

  19. Wow, an utterly, utterly HORRIBLE call at the plate to end the game in the 19th inning. Jerry Meals wanted one of his last name, apparently.
  20. Braves 4 Pirates 3. Darn.
