  1. Won a game in the 14th or thereabouts in the middle of May, which by all rights should have been a proprietary month for him.
  2. Granderson 4.0 Niese 2.0 Uribe 1.0 Murphy 0.5 Lagares 0.5 Tejada 0.5
  3. Duda 6.0 ATorres 1.0
  4. Wright shows his face and Duda extends his lead, 49-46. Granderson leaves seventh-place tie with Reyes and Hairston behind and moved into sixth-place tie with Beltran. One more for a fifth-place tie with Pagan.
  5. Syndegaard 6.0 Duda 2.0 Granderson 1.5 Clippard 0.5
  6. Sheffield.
  7. Two great wins in the books. Voting remains open.

  11. Ah, you 20th century MOFOs. Like the House of Lords, a Pooler can reach 10 years here and still be one of the new kids on the block.
  12. After a little double-checking and recalculating, all hail the new Home Run King of Citi Field. Duda 48 Wright 46 Davis 30 Murphy 24 Pagan 15 Beltran 14 Granderson 13 Hairston 13 Reyes 13 Nieuwenhuis 11 Flores 11 Not sure where I missed two of Duda's and one of Murphy's, but I did. Here, with confirmation, are the new standings, including Lucas Duda's ascension past David Wright for No. 1. A celebratory moment for the quiet man, kind of a sad milestone for the absent captain. Also, Kelly Johnson gets on the board, joining six 2015 Mets with exactly one Citi Field home run (Harvey, Ceciliani, Mayberry, Syndergaard, Plawecki are the others). However temporarily, Johnson also becomes the 76th Met with exactly one Met home run.
  13. According to the little box on the left, I joined this fine Forum 10 years ago today. That's a lot of Schaefer points and such under the bridge. Good to know you all this past decade. Looking forward to another postseason with you real soon (or eventually).
  14. Juan Uribe becomes the fourth Met to make his 3B debut in 2015, tying the one-season record in the Wright Era, which at the moment is kind of on hiatus. 157. Juan Uribe 07/25/2015 156. 17. Mayberry has started every game vs lefty this year. It's a good spot to stop being robotic about it.
  18. BTW, good for TC benching useless righties vs LHP Thomas. Enough matchups for Mayberry, Campbell.

  21. What an amazing find. Hope you guys (and everybody here) are hip to this collection of Mullin's baseball work. Not only chock full of some of the best baseball cartooning ever, but wonderful text from Mullin's daughter as well as Hal Bock. The book just seeps baseball in the best way possible.
  22. Zack Greinke is off being paternal, so he will not shut the Mets out on three hits Friday night at Citi Field. Let's reach back to the golden year of 1974, when the pitching-rich Los Angelenos were bound for October and the team from Flushing batted a robust .235, and dedicate this one to Emily Greinke, or as Paul Anka would have called her, Mrs. Zack Greinke. [youtube:3hxmnfxe]SFHWl-ZyRAg[/youtube:3hxmnfxe] Mets will instead face Ian Thomas, not necessarily the same Ian Thomas whose biggest hit, "Painted Ladies," reached No. 34 in 1974. [youtube:3hxmnfxe]QRvY-I9pNpI[/youtube:3hxmnfxe] Ian Thomas had only two fewer hits than all the Mets did against Clayton Kershaw. Will Zack's well-timed trip to the Paternity Leave list make a difference? Can Jon Niese deal with the standard four days' rest? Will Michael Cuddyer magically transform into Michael Conforto? For the answers to these and other brain teasers, tune in Friday night at 7:10 on 710 WOR (or SNY).
  23. Box. Colon 4.5 Granderson 0.5
