Bruce Kison, 68, cancer. Pitched for two world champions in Pittsburgh. His wedding, amid the '71 Series, was a big deal. https://www.si.com/vault/1972/04/10/613983/end-of-innocence Made a snide remark about not wanting to sign with the Mets as a free agent following the 1979 season.

Callaway says he plans to start Plawecki at first on Saturday to make the lineup more righthanded, so having Lobaton gives him a little more flexibility off the bench, or something along those lines.

RealityChuck wrote: Do you think one reason they're holding on to Reyes is hoping the Wright comes back so they can play together again? If that was the reason, and it happened, I'd kiss a Wilpon, I would. Well, maybe lightly peck one. But I don't think they operate on that sentimental a level, though I would if I owned the team.

David celebrated belatedly yesterday by playing catch and not shaving. May he take a grounder soon.

Sure enough, Lobaton officially back, yeoman Copeland DFA'd.
  11. G-Fafif
Lobaton reported back with the Mets and Copeland's locker reported empty. Mesoraco's concussion protocol apparently OK because he's tonight's cleanup hitter. Lobaton would have to be added to the 40-man to give the Mets an extra bench player (Lobaton) who would double as catching insurance.

Wheeler Chatwood is... A) Where your loved ones will be cared for before eternity calls them home, according to ads that run on WOR during the pregame show. A handsome devil who has moved into Genoa City and looms as Victor Newman's next business rival ("see here, Wheeler Chatwood, this is MY company and you will not get your filthy paws on it!"). C) Legal in Colorado for a few years now.

As long as we're dissecting logos, what's with the orange loops inside the "e" and the "s" on the 1973 championship flag?
  15. G-Fafif
The banner the fans brought out versus the banner the team put up. Both are handsome, both are meaningful, one is particularly creative. That means 1966, again.

Matz's deal called slight finger strain; "could make next start," per reports.
  22. G-Fafif
The bench tonight is Conforto, Reyes, Mesoraco and that's it. Nine-man bullpen, few of whom can truly be called providers of relief.
  23. G-Fafif
Let's see...as reported, Baumann, Copeland and Peterson are here. Evans and Rhame were optioned. Since they were a man short with Thor's DL'ing, that's 25. Matz not on DL.
