WOR bracketed the "official" pre and post, which was hosted by Wayne Randazzo (who I hope remains part of the crew), with Pete's shows. It created a nice buffer on either side against standard 710 fare, which was odious before a Mets game and deadly dull after, depending on the daypart. WCBS might not feel compelled to do as much. A half-hour pre and however long the post goes might be it, then back to the news. Can't stress enough how good Pete has been. He's one of us, in the fan sense, but a professional all the way through. Nothing gimmicky, talked like an intelligent person, handled callers with respect, didn't suffer fools gladly, never came off as a company man, well-prepared always. In the baseball radio matrix, he was an essential part of the season. Licata co-hosted occasionally and sat in on off nights. He became tolerable after a while.
