  1. I'm sorry i spent so much time knocking this guy, but he has gotten his walks under control (unlike Ishii) and has pitched in a way i never thought possible (unlike Ishii, who continues to prove me right about pitcher who walk people.)So sorry Zambrano, please rub off on Ishii...or better yet stay away from him so he doesn't rub off on you.first 6 starts-2W-3L, 5.71 ERA, 32 IP, 41 hits, 21 BB, 27 K'slast 10 starts-2W-4L, 2.59 ERA, 66 IP, 49 hits, 29 BB, 35 K'sbyebye walks, hello good ERA. the K's are down too but maybe thats helping him throw less pitches or something and go deeper into games?editted for spelling
  2. a monument park of their own?DC has enough monuments already, and it had them before the yankees did.
  3. KC wrote:>>>Why?<<<Because, unless I'm not remembering correctly, a replay camera angleactually showed Piazza stopping and having to wait to see the ball whizhome. If he went any further and got deeked and picked off this threadmay have a very different ending. Well, they were all out anyways, butthat's why.theres was 1 out not 2, if he gets thrown out trying for second allowing beltran to score without a throw in the process i'm ok with that. i'm really not even too upset about what did happen because you are trying to trade piazza for floyd's run there, they just happened to get them both which is unusual.my thing is that knowing the score and situation you just bust it out of the box for 2B there, thers no reason to hold up.
  4. ]He had to stop and wait until the ball was thrown. Why? if you run all-out then Guillen is more than welcome to throw you out at second, which would have gauranteed Beltran's scoring without there even being a throw. In a tie game you almost have to know that Guillen is throwing home.
  5. Gary Cohen thinks Bell shouldn't be allowed to warm up and then not start the inning (thouhg he acknowledges it is within the rules) i disagree. if a pitcher warms up and the team thinks he looks like he's lost it while sitting on the bench they should be within their rights to pull him.
  6. Piazza singles home Beltran, tries to go to 2nd on the throw to the plate, is thrown out. Floyd tries to score on the throw to 2nd and is then thrown out at the plate. 1 run in, 2-outs on the basepaths.and now i am hearing that Looper hadn't even had the chance to start throwing yet because the inning ended right after the run scored.
  7. ok good we took the lead, but whats up with slow-man getting htrown out at 2nd and then floyd at the plate? that was disgusting.
  8. well at least guillen didnt get the job done...WHY is graves up in the bullpen?
  9. it just occured to me that Reyes is again leading off and Wright is again batting 7th....just when i thought Randolph was finally starting to "get it"
  10. i just punched my radio across the room :/i am fuckin tired of gary cohen making a flyout sound like a no-doubter off the bat!
  11. i know i'm occasionally negative myself but does the pessimism ever stop for you Sal?
  12. i'm baaaaaaaack.i loved the lineup (reyes down in it) the last 2 days.and god damn i came home in time for the mini-rally that falls short.
  13. i was there today, great game.Beltran could have moonwalked home from 3rd and stolen the plate easily.that shift against Floyd is STUPID.
  14. Ishii sucks. that is all.
  15. ]Give us a laugher once in a while wouldya.Done.Why is Bell being pulled with an 8-1 lead?

  20. Offerman (career .361 OBP) should be in the lineup as often as possible. and probably leading off if he still has the decent speed i remember from a few years ago.Victor Houdini made me cringe tonight, but hey 1 run is 1 run.
  21. ]Hey, I hear the Sox are shopping Petaigne Roberto Petagine? I liked his upside 7-10 years ago when the mets had him and didn't give him enough of a shot for my taste. right now he's a bit old and not worth going after.
