  1. floyd gets an "infield hit",,,i think thats an E... the tying run will bat!!
  2. we already have a pelfrey thread. it's too early to give up on floyd and even if it wasn't i still want to give Diaz the chance he has deserved for the last 2 years before i rush Milledge.
  3. there is no way valentin should have batted with runners on, do we want to get back into this game or what?
  4. so much for lima-time, its 4-3 brewers on a bases clearing double. lima wasnt walking anyone in the minors but in 2 starts here he has gotten into trouble because of walks and falling behind in the count generally. i'd give him one more start and if he has control issues again i'd send him back down. i'm willing to be patient with a pitcher who can find the strike zone even if he isnt doing too well, i have NO patience for guys who "walk the ballpark" (see: Ishii, Kaz)
  5. turning point of the game right here, its bases loaded 2 outs...
  6. This was a close second, the best homerun i've seen still remains the Mo Vaughn shot off of the budweiser sign on the Shea scoreboard, though McGwire hitting his own number on the board was nice too, and probably more impressive since he was a righty.
  7. Edgy, are you implying that shenanigans went on on Valentine's watch?
  8. i've seen ichiro, edmonds and several others rob some amazing homers. i'm sure andruw has made some crazy diving catches that i'm forgetting. of course there is wright's play, and earlier this week jeter (ughh) made an over the shoulder catch on his knees (his favorite position according to suzyn waldman.) there are plenty more but i just dont remember them
  9. fuck floyd called out on strikes. matsui up w/ 2nd and 3rd, 2 outs
  10. sac fly scores loduca, beltran to 3rd, delgado goes to 2nd on a bad throw. i'll take it though i'd like MORE MORE MORE!
  11. loaded w/ 1out for Wright lets get a run home and help lima time!
  12. wheres the igt enthusiasm tonight???
  13. for those who were wondering, the lineups are: Today's Lineups NO. NEW YORK MILWAUKEE 1. J. Reyes, SS R. Weeks, 2B 2. P. Lo Duca, C B. Hall, SS 3. C. Beltran, CF G. Jenkins, RF 4. C. 14. Delgado says "i hate guys named Bush, kaaaboooom"
  15. ball inplay scores reyes easily, 1-0 mets.
  16. Reyes at 3rd with 1 out, lets bring him home beltran!
  17. fuckin cheap ass 7oz bottles...
  18. i stopped watching the all-star game after Bud Selig called it a tie. then he made things worse by basing homefield advantage on what he admitted was an exhibition game. i say you can't have it both ways... if this game is important and i'm the manager then i'm taking the best pitcher from my division's rival's roster and making him go 7 inningsm hey i have to try and win it for my league right?

What a radical belief (SC = 100) Is anyone really saying something differently? i don't think anyone is saying differently, but someone impolied that someone else was saying differently so everyone felt the need to jump on the "i support freedom to vote as you choose too" bandwagon
  20. i agree with metsmarathon...if everything isn't relative to the one game you're voting on then you need to lift the 10 point max for those nights when we win 10-0 with 3 guys who have 2 extra base RBI hits each and a pitcher who went 9 shutout innings (an automatic 6 in my book) at that point you're really talking about a whole different system which would be 0-6 (though why 6 at that point, might as well make it 0-10 whole numbers only) for each player in each game

Your methodology is to give no points for the two hitters who hit doubles, and to give 3 points to a guy who went 0 for 2 with an almost-double. Makes perfect sense. Nady's ball was caught. It was a great play. Happens all the time. This ain't horseshoes and it ain't hand grenades. in a game where the mets don't score yes i gave points to the guy who hit a ball that 99.9% of the time scores 3 runs. i probably wouldnt do this in a 5-4 game but if we arent going to hand out significant points in a loss then whats the damn point of this whole thing? i liked it better when we mandated 10 points in every game btw.
  22. Beltran .5 Delgado .5 Wright .5 Nady 3 Traschel 2 Nady's ball had no business being caught and ina rain-shortened shutout that will get him a three from me.
  23. edit- nevermind.
  24. The tarp has been rolled up and they are getting under way...
  25. Batting Floyd 2nd is a little weird but if its just for one night oh well who cares. I'd probably have put Matsui there for tonight as the most capable of bunting Reyes over if that ended up being necessary for some reason.
