  1. Hanley walks and there goes the perfect game
  2. Wright plates three with a double that rolls to the wall! Maybe Mark Hendrickson should go backto the NBA, i hear the Knicks need help...
  3. jose jose jose jose
  4. Angel and Church with back to back hits and the Mets lead 2-0!
  5. Big D walks, get your rally caps on!
  6. Beltran with a leadoff ouble. get. him. home.
  7. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: ="AG/DC"]Bunting with two outs, he'd better steal second. MTE, though he did it right. Went right away and made it. i'd normally be opposed to 2-out bunting because you really need to look to get yourself in scoring position with 2 outs, but Castillo is one of the least powerful hitters in the majors (at least with a starting job), so for him i'm ok with it.
  8. 9 up, 9 down.
  9. but wright strands him. middle of the 3rd, we're scoreless in florida.
  10. Castillo puts himself on wth a beautiful bunt doen the line. he promptly steals 2nd.
  11. santana fields it on the line and tags out Ross to end the marlin 2nd. 6 up, 6 down.
  12. AG/DC wrote: I don't remember this Santana guy from last year. He was in that other league, you know, the one where pussies like Clemens can hit people and not have to take their turn at the plate.
  13. 1-2-3 and Santana is through the 1st.
  14. Ramirez flails at an unhittable 1-1 pitch in the dirt, fouls off a 1-2 pitch, and watches strike 3 go by. The Santana Era is under way!
  15. The Mets strand runners at 2nd 3rd and here comes my first gripe of the season... Castillo was watching the play and holding up with two outs, he should have been running hard the whole way and relying on the 3B coach to tell him whether or not to go home (which he could have done had he been running not watching before the ball popped out of the CF's glove.)
  16. Reyes strikes out on 3 pitches on TV before he even comes to bat on the radio. fuck.
  17. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Oops. Never mind. The delay is due to "ceremonies." the ceremony was for the retirement of "Mr. Marlin" Jeff Conine. Hendrickson warming on the mound as we speak. players on the field.
  18. i found a muted TV in the cafeteria to go with my WFAN feed. i'll be here unless one is drastically ahead of the other.
  19. i'm here and listening to WFAN via headphones plugged into my computer. omar minaya on in the leadoff spot
  20. so based on that chart everyone who took them (but me) thinks the Nationals are good enough to win 71 games but the Giants aren't? If anything the Giants are the better team, they at least have Cain and Lincecum keeping them in 40% of their games, the Nats have nothing.
  21. Bush was in the booth? i'm kinda annoyed i missed that, he probably made the yankees' team sound coherent by comparison.
  22. Grote15 wrote: My concern is that this team will have troble scoring runs. 3 solid sticks..Wright, Reyes, Beltran..the other 5..average at best Might be the starting pitching that gets us to 90 wins...Need a real corner OF capable of 30 knocks...we just dont have it. Church had an OPS+ of 131 and 114 the last 2 years, Alou is a very good hitter when in there, they aren't "average at best" they are "above average at worst." When the Mets come to bat, you can pretend that Beltran is playing RF and Church is in center if that will make you feel better about the number of homers you're "supposed" to get from each spot.
  23. ="Grote15"]Its frightening to think our OF corners may be good for 15 knocks total...Lets hope its 1973 its frightening to think of how you reached those numbers when you consider that Church managed 15 on his own in 470 ABs last year. He also hit 43 doubles. I just don't get the negativity some of you have for this guy.
  24. I don't like Stokes either, but its not an enormous mistake unless you think that someone without options will be let go as a result and that someone will turn out to be good.
  25. your supreme court picture is outdated, Rehnquist and O'Connor are in it. and yeah Centerfield, as soon as i saw this thread yesterday i knew Client #9 would be in it today.
