    Blowing an opportunity to climb over a team (and everyone likes to say there's too many teams to climb over) is always bad with only two months left. Yesterday they erased a 'games back' and the others mostly did too. The day before they could have climbed over ARI - eliminating, at least temporarily, one of the dreaded 'tmttco's. Fewer teams to climb over has to be better than tmttco the first week of August or after Labor Day.

    Not that I keep track of such things, but in addition to the Mets the other four teams ahead of them in the wild card 'race' also drop another game back. Last night's loss was huge and a win would have resulted in rare quintuple happiness.
